Dear Clinton supporters: Hang in there, keep fighting hard for your candidate.
Just a couple of minutes ago, I checked out Hillary Clinton's website... the blog, and it didn't take me long to see myself in there- hardcore, committed supporters giving money they barely have, praying, crying, fighting for Hillary Clinton, a woman they believe in as much as I believe in Barack Obama. I couldn't help but remember how I felt the night Obama lost New Hampshire, and I remembered that while some fellow Obama supporters (not everyone) were angry with me because of my bitter posts (I was angry and depressed like I hadn't been in a while), several Clinton supporters extended their hand and told me to keep my chin up, because it was far from over...

Today, I say to you, Hillary supporters- Keep fighting. Hillary is a fighter and expects nothing less from you. A hug for all of you, and good luck. I hope that if Obama wins the Dem primary, we can all rally around him; if Hillary wins it, I will be on her side.

11. In my heart of hearts, I still want both of them on the ticket-
clinton/obama of course
or if Obama won & offered the VP to her I'd be cool with that too.

13. K&R! This is what both DU and the Democratic Party need more of.
We will all need to unite after the primaries if we want to avoid 8 more years of failed Bush policies under McCain.

15. I think this is along the lines of what the Obama campaign said
Today, Obama won an upset victory in Maine, a state where internal and external polls had Clinton leading in the days leading up to the caucuses. Obama is projected to win 15 delegates to Clinton’s 9, capping off an Obama sweep of this weekend’s contests.

Barack Obama has won nearly twice as many states as Hillary Clinton. He won a Red State, Purple State, and Blue States this weekend – showing he has broad national appeal and can win in every corner of this country. Obama has now won 20 contests to Clinton’s 11; he’s won a larger share of the popular vote; and he’s projected to more than triple his current pledged delegate lead since Super Tuesday from 27 pledged delegates to 84, a net gain of 57 pledged delegates.

This weekend’s net gain of 57 pledged delegates represents more than the 42 delegate net gain that Clinton won in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Tennessee and Arizona – combined.

While Obama’s victories demonstrate his broad national appeal, he still faces an uphill battle in every upcoming contest because the Clintons are far better known and have a political machine that’s been honed over two decades. But the more voters get to know Obama and his message of change, the more they support him, which bodes well for the upcoming primaries.

Obama’s victories reflect what a recent Time poll confirmed the other day – that he is the candidate best suited to win Independents, play well in Red States, and beat John McCain in November. As the nominee, Obama will also help down-ballot Democrats get elected to Congress across the country, especially in those Red States where Democrats haven’t fared well for decades. So Obama won’t just win an election, he’ll win a new majority for change, so we can finally solve the problems we’ve been talking about for decades.

16. It's a wild race.
I doubt many people other than you will believe this, but I just counseled my best friend to vote for Obama Tuesday in VA.

It was a complicated conversation involving Kant's categorical imperative and notions of responsibility. He likes Obama and dislikes Clinton. I advised him to just vote his heart, but he ultimately decided that it would be irresponsible not to vote for who he believes would be the better President just because he doesn't like her.

C'est la vie!

19. Thank you for this...
It means a lot.

I have supported Hillary Clinton with the ferver and excitement that you have supported Obama. I even...cried when I voted for her in the caucus (don't laugh) and...yes...I forced my huband to take a picture of me in out in the snow in front of my polling center with my Clinton sticker right out there.

I had to take the weekend off from reading DU so that I wouldn't tip over the edge. I'm emotionally invested in my candidate. I want to come around though if it doesn't work out "my" way. LOL

Thank you for extending your hand across this political rift.

Kris

22. Thanks Katz
I find the ups and downs and back and forth of it kind of interesting. I enjoy the discourse and even the high passions. I don't enjoy it when people are dishonest, but that's part of the territory. Barack's been waging a great campaign and it's been fun to watch.

The objective is to get the other side to bow out as earlier as possible, without making it impossible to heal the gaping wounds that have been opened up from a year's internecine warfare.

Not a sporting event. We want them to take a knee.
