On Obama: "I certainly don't know what he believes in-"
OH...the IRONY!

Chris Wallace interview:

WALLACE: Do you think there's a rush to judgment about Barack Obama. Do you think voters know enough about him?

BUSH: I certainly don't know what he believes in. The only foreign policy thing I remember he said was he's going to attack Pakistan and embrace Ahmadinejad. I think I commented that in a press conference when I was asked about that.

WALLACE: I hope not. But so you don't think that we know enough about him or what he stands...

BUSH: It doesn't seem like it to me, but this campaign is plenty of time for candidates to get defined. He is yet his party's nominee.

WALLACE: So why do you think he's gotten this far if people don't know what he stands for?

BUSH: You're the pundit. I'm just a simple president

http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/02/bush_on_obama.php

So, Bush lays the question at the feet of the Pundits. Why aren't the Pundits doing the job?

And I'm not the only one who believes it was "IRONICLY" intended.

You, apparently, seem to think the OP is a Bush lover, by your rather rancorous comment.

32. Sure it was. The irony comment was
clearly referring to the OP's assertion that the press isn't doing it's job and should be parroting what bushco said.

And here's the proof:

"So, Bush lays the question at the feet of the Pundits. Why aren't the Pundits doing the job?"

It's a pathetic post.

Wow, there are an awful lot of hypersensitive, overeager-to-take-offense, whiners hereabouts.

Your post suggesting that the OP should be kissing Bush's ass was pretty rude--you were obliquely calling the poster a Republican.

Pretty rich, that.

43. My translation would be - Bush doesn't like Obama
but kind of likes Hillary, and would certainly like her to be the one they run against.

I cannot believe GWB is actually being quoted here in what is a very thinly disguised anti-Obama post. If he "sort of" endorsed Obama, I'd run like hell from that endorsement, and certainly wouldn't be posting it on here.

Oh, the irony, indeed.

Seriously, a one minute search to BarackObama.com would tell you what he stands for. For instance, being opposed to the War in Iraq from the beginning, one of the worst foreign policy mistakes in American history. I know where Senator Clinton stands on that one!

52. Um...slight problem with your analogy
except that Bush is dumb and Obama is smart (Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, first black editor of the Harvard Law Review). Bush is a terrible speaker and Obama is a brilliant one. (People laugh at Bush when bush speaks; Obama inspires people when he speaks.) Bush, because of his connections and his family, was the establishment candidate favored to win the white house. Obama, if he does get to the white house, will have fought against overwhelming odds to get there. Bush didn't have detailed position papers on issues ranging from poverty to energy policy when he was running for election, Obama does.
