ABC News: Obama-Edwards meeting has been rescheduled
Edited on Mon Feb-11-08 01:51 PM by JackORoses
ABC News' Sunlen Miller Reports: An in-person meeting schedule for tonight between Senator Barack Obama and former Senator John Edwards in North Carolina has been rescheduled, the Obama campaign confirms.

The two were intended to meet in North Carolina, Edwards’s home state, after Obama’s last campaign event of the day wrapped up in Baltimore.

A campaign source says that the meeting is being rescheduled.

Senator Clinton met with John Edwards secretly last Thursday. Both candidates are actively courting John Edwards's endorsement. Obama told reporters earlier this week that he talks with Edwards on the phone frequently and he has personally asked him for his endorsement.

While it is unclear which party ultimately pulled the plug on tonight's meeting between Obama and Edwards, sources indicate the meeting will be rescheduled in coming days.

No cause was given for the abrupt rescheduling but sources have indicated that the Obama campaign and Edwards wished that the meeting would be done in private without massive media attention.

Obama campaigns today in Maryland in advance of primaries in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

Sorry to get your hopes up, Hillarites.
Looks like they just rescheduled for more privacy.

1. How are my sage predictions going to be taken seriously if they keep doing this?
Today I've already predicted both Obama THEN Clinton to get JE's endorsement. I'm going to have to look for a new line of work.

2. Nice...
There are 7 days between tomorrow primaries and then HI & WI. Probably better to do it in that timeframe.

4. I'm sure they were getting a barrage of calls from reporters.
So they just said it's been rescheduled. Who knows when it will take place.

13. Yeah - it could all be a smokescreen.
Like in A Hard Day's Night when the Beatles entered a taxi through one door and exited through the other to fake out the fans. :eyes:

What makes me curious is why/how the Clinton meeting was kept secret for a couple of days after it occurred, and the Obama meeting was announced beforehand. Does that make any sense?

6. based on this, I now think Edwards will endorse Obama after he sweeps the Potomacs
why would they still be meeting if there is no endorsement to meet about?

If he's already said no to Clinton, he'd be or could be stumping for Obama by now.

11. The meeting with Hillary was in advance of all the publicity
It was already private. It makes sense that Edwards/Obama rescheduled for more privacy given the media attention. As someone said, they don't want the media knocking on the doors. The Edwards/Clinton meeting had that privacy, so it's a non-issue .

Looks like this was improperly leaked and both Edwards and Obama want the media out of the way.

Neither you nor I know who he's going to endorse, if IF he'll endorse. Guessing games on the basis of rescheduling are useless.

15. If he endorses one , doesn't it affect his Deligates
I think so. Wouldn't he loose control of the deligates?
