Obama vs. McCain would not be JFK vs. Nixon
A lot of folks nervous about Obama's lack of experience point to JFK vs. Nixon as an example of a young inexperienced candidate beating a very experienced old one. This is a myth and a dangerous one. JFK vs. Nixon is no precedent for Obama vs. McCain. Obama would probably be the least experienced nominee ever and during wartime that matters.

JFK vs. Nixon

Age: JFK 43, Nixon 47 (the "young" Obama's age will be 47 by Novemeber)
House experience: JFK 6 years, Nixon 3 years
Senate experience: JFK 8 years, Nixon 3 years
Vice President experience: Nixon 8 years, JFK 0
Total experience: JFK 14 years, Nixon 14 years
Result: JFK 49.7%, Nixon 49.5%

The "charismatic", "inspiring" JFK barely beat Nixon and he did it by outhawking Nixon. He didn't run as a dove. The election was not a true "change" election either. They agreed on almost all the major issues except for Taiwan.

Obama vs. McCain

Age: McCain 71, Obama 46
House experience: McCain 4 years, Obama 0
Senate experience: McCain 21 years, Obama 3
Total experience: McCain 25 years, Obama 3

1. That's so interesting! Thanks for posting.
I forgot how young Nixon was then.

2. ..
You got to remember, things weren't as fucked up by Republicans then as they are now.

3. BUT
JFK was following Eisenhower, who was a real Republican (that's when you could really spell the word with a capital letter). Nixon was nothing like Dwight; he was shifty and no one trusted him.

McCain is coming after a criminal president and people are sick of the "r" word. I don't think it matters who gets the r nomination, they won't win.

Can't wait.

6. do you think that, if the debate comes down to McCain/Obama ...
the station carrying the debate would use the same makeup person who did Al Gore in 2000, and Obama end up looking like that old OJ "mugshot" pic (the one which was doctored to make him look blacker)?

7. I am not familiar with what happened to Gore's makeup
I do remember the msm slaughtering him after the debates. I don't know about makeup but the msm love affair with Obama will end, if he is the nominee, the moment he clinches. This is what they did with Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. The OJ thing probably wouldn't happen because it would be pointless. Everyone already knows he is black. What they WILL do is bring up his church a lot more...
