Yes, I know how stupid that sounds; that's the point. And if pigs could fly, they would... Right?

Now, think about what you just read. Think about it before you go posting something that doesn't apply here.

I have seen some of the most asinine post on here lately, including that if Hillary were a man she would have won this already.

What good does that do? She's not a man, and I am not about to get into a discussion about how she could become one. I know how that works.

Can we please get back to some substantive debates on here? I mean really, there have been some truly childish threads posted today, meant to do nothing more than divide us. The further along we get the more vile and hateful some of you become.

Remeber something, we are all Democrats here (well, most of us...;-);-)) and the more we tear each other down, the harder it is going to be to build the party back up.

1. If Obama was white he never would have run.
If Obama was a first term white senator named Joe Smith from Illinois, he never would have any thing to run on.

Star Power Baby!

14. Actually, John Edwards ran as a first-time white male senator.
Edwards was the VP nominee in 2004, with less experience in politics than Obama. So....

2. If Hillary was a man...
she couldn't claim her experience as First Lady!
If Hillary was a man, she wouldn't be Hillary. Sheesh, people are goofy.

7. If she was a man and still married to Bill...
We wouldn't have don't ask/don't tell, and Bill wouldn't have signed the Defense of Marriage Act. ;)

16. If Hillary was a man and still married to Bill she wouldn't be a candidate for president.
Imagine a transsexual candidate for president.

It just shows how pathetic are country's thinking is about people, that we care so much about the appearance of their bodies rather than the workings of their minds.

3. I was just going to say, what a stupid post, but I realize that is your point.
Hillary would not be Hillary if she weren't a woman.

Obama would not be Obama if he weren't African American.

Identity politics are NOT going to win the day, so why do people keep pushing it?

4. If Obama were white
he'd never be getting anything like the share of the black vote against a candidate like Hilary Clinton. He wouldn't stand a chance in this thing without 80% of the black vote. He's Howard Dean/Gary Hart/Jerry Brown redux except that because of tribal loyalties, he's winning 80% of the black vote. ANd there's nothing Clinton can do to stop that.

9. And Hillary getting 60-65% if the women's vote. Is that as "tribal"
as Obama getting 80% of the Black vote? Since women are a much bigger voting block than Blacks, you could say that she has benefited more from "identity politics" than he has. Oh, and "there's nothing" Obama "can do to stop that".

12. Right.
If Obama was white he'd have dropped out by now because Hillary would have been getting the 80% black votes, because she and Bill have been advocates for Blacks all their adult life. They were working on civil rights when Barrack was just a school boy.
