Another lie posted on DU about Hillary. She never said she lost because black vote in NE or ME.
Edited on Mon Feb-11-08 03:13 PM by Kerry2008
In another thread, a poster had the headline that Hillary Clinton said she lost the recent voting states because of black vote. Hillary NEVER said that. She said she was unfavored because of the caucus system, and she said in LA she was unfavored because of the high American American vote. Which is true, African Americans break largely for Barack Obama. But she only said this about the black vote in LA, not the other states.

Why distort what she said and say she said she lost Nebraska and Maine because of the black vote?

More lies on DU, I suppose!

7. Here you go:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4537912&mesg_id=4537912

As you can tell by the headline and first few lines, the OPer wants you to believe Hillary said she lost Maine and Nebraska and Washington because of the black vote.

She NEVER said that.

2. Let's not play the semantics games
She blamed the black vote for her loss in Louisiana.

Those are her words. Not mine.

You lied. You distorted.

You hit her, and ran.

But she blamed the black vote for her loss in Louisana.

Her words, not mine. It's not a hit and run if it is true.

Go back to your thread, and read your first line.

You pose it as if she said she lost the other states because of the black vote.

34. Facts? These are facts, they're lies.
Your headline is: "Hillary deflects her losses over the weekend, saying that she lost because of the large black vote"

That suggests that she said she lost Nebraska, Maine and Washington because of the black vote. She never said that.

And you can say that's not what you meant, but then look at your first line of the thread:
"Maine sure is a black stronghold. Just like Washington. And Nebraska."

You pose the thread as to suggest Hillary Clinton said she lost those states because of the black vote.

She didn't say that. She was talking about LA.

You lied. Not your lying about lies.

Go figures.

18. If you report the facts, then you wouldn't of lied about what she said.
You posed your thread as if she said she lost all the states because of the black vote.

She didn't say that. She said that about LA.

It's simple: Don't lie!

Then I won't have to set the record straight because another DUer wants to lie about Hillary and what she's said.

19. Garbage.
I just went to look at the thread and got no such impression. Caucuses are mentioned in the very first line of the quoted text. As for the poster's remarks, if you can't distinguish an irony, satire or sarcastic remarks from straight commentary then that is your problem.

There is a thread on the main page here on DU with a poster saying Hillary blamed her losses on the black vote in states like Nebraska, Maine and Washington.

She never said that.

She was talking about LA.

But this poster wants you to believe otherwise in his/her thread.

Edited on Mon Feb-11-08 03:26 PM by sparosnare
There's two reasons for her losses coming from the Hillary campaign. In states with a substantial number of black voters, it's the black vote. In states without who caucused, it's because caucuses are unfair (and her voters are intimidated).

28. Spin in a campaign? Noooo, never.
And I'm sure the Obama campaign is NEVER guilty of that.

And caucuses do favor Obama, so it's a fair point to make.

32. You claimed other OP said Hillary blamed blacks for her losses in NE. Other OP
did no such thing. The only claim that was made was that HRC blamed blacks--which she did, but only in LA. It was perhaps misleading, but it was not a lie. This thread is as much a distortion as the original OP. However, I will not make a thread about it, because I try to obey DU rules.
