Raise your hand if you've never had a message deleted in GD: P

I'm a little proud of that fact. Tensions can get high, and everyone has strong emotions. And things I say are far, far from perfect all the time. But I made a commitment before this primary season even started to do my best to act like a statesman, to put country and party ahead of the personal. I promised to try to stay issue focused and not throw slime around.

I've tried to defend Senator Clinton and supporters when it felt truthful and appropriate. I know why I support my candidate, and I try to not be completely reactionary in response to criticism.

Let there be no mistake - I fall short of those goals a lot. I'm so far from perfect that even using the word anywhere near a post I make is laughable. But still.... never had a deleted message. I'm doing something right.

Who here is trying to do the same thing and has never had to have a message deleted in GD: P ?

As soon as I start getting really furious I get up out of my chair & yell & cuss & say all the things I want to type then sit down & continue on.... LOL!
If a thread gets too crazy I just go to another one. It just isn't worth fighting & being nasty to someone. We're all supposed to be on the same side here. Maybe we will be again someday.

I challenged both sides of the stupid internecine war to do something anatomically difficult .... and the mods said I couldn't say that.

I wasn't calling out any one person ..... both anatomically difficult challenges were general.

...and won my appeal. In 2004 there was a rule in effect that said if you got several posts deleted you would be kicked out of DU, so it was worth appealing. Me and the mods ended up agreeing that my post fell in the grey zone, so I promised to be more careful and we moved on, lol.

Sure have had other posts deleted, maybe even a whole locked thread a few times. Not excessive though. I remember the first time it happened - I wasn't getting the messages because of my slow dial up and I kept starting new threads. Almost got into a bit of trouble but it was worked out. If I recall it was a big brouhaha about using the word skank and Ann Coulter.

I seem to post in the worthwhile threads that sink to page 2 in 5 minutes, though, so I probably wouldn't notice if I got deleted.

I love me some Dems, as crazy as it has been lately. I think most of the "stirrers" are from the other side, trying to get us arguing amongst ourselves.

And of course, those others were so not my fault. :P

I had a reply deleted because the entire sub-thread had been deleted. Other than that, so far my record is clean :)

under a different posting name. I've always wondered what was wrong with the post, that it was deleted. Later I found out the poster that alerted the mods, had a habit of doing it to anyone who challenged his/her candidate. General Clark was God, I guess.

It wasn't long after, I had to abandon a severly compromised computer and all my email accounts, and I changed my posting names on all forums at the same time.

but none in GD-P. I'm nicer here.

For dissing Lieberman when he was a candidate. This was when there was a rule about attacking candidates.

Looking back, I was quite proud of that post, seeing what has happened to him since.
