Obama caved to lobbyists in Illinois
As a state senator, Obama CAVED to the lobbyists when Illinois was trying to pass legislation providing health insurance for ALL Illinois residents. Obama listened to the lobbyists and WATERED DOWN the
legislation and REDUCED the number of Illinois residents that were protected with health insurance.

If you want to know what someone one WILL do, look at his record to see what he has DONE. Obama caved to the healthcare LOBBYISTS in Illinois.

Obama's campaign CO-CHAIRMAN in New Hampshire, Jim Demers, is a state-based LOBBYIST whose clients include PHARMACEUTICAL companies.

Would never have passed here. We're already strapped for cash trying to just cover the kids. And we're also a very red state downstate of Chicago. KidCare was a good compromise, one that our governor was raked over the coals for during his run against Topinka - who would have had it repealed all together if she would have won. Along with the early education programs.

12. well, your link goes nowhere, and
why would you be linking to a boston paper about something that obama did in illinois? why don't you try putting up some specifics. how the hell do you expect people to refute something so vague.
oh, yeah.....

usually, tho, this would be something called negotiations. which he is pretty good at.

18. wow, distort the article much?
starting with the headline-In Illinois, Obama dealt with lobbyists
little different. i suggest that people try actually reading the article. although it has a bit of a negative slant, it pretty much lays out why i support him. it isn't about "caving". it is about bringing everyone to the table. he never said he wanted lobbyists hung, put out of business, or run out of town. he said that they shouldn't be running the show. i agree with that. lots of lobbyists actually represent very legitimate interests. i have no problem with their existence. i agree with barack's approach. talk to them, but buy your own lunch. how hard is that to understand?
the article does paint the situation as though there were no political or budgetary issues involved. just barack and the lobbyists. doesn't really reflect reality.
