Hillary Clinton Can't Be Bothered From Campaigning to Vote To Strip Retroactive Immunity.
Today's vote on the Feingold amendment to strip retroactive immunity from the domestic spying and governmental terrorism bill DID NOT INCLUDE A VOTE FROM CLINTON. Where was Clinton when we needed her for this IMPORTANT VOTE to uphold the rule of law and not to place corporations above the rule of law? She was campaigning in Texas.

Why again should we trust Clinton to be tough on the fascism creeping into governmental rule?

Her vote would have made no difference. It doesn't matter.

Have you no decency?

3. Votes do matter. Standing up for the rule of law does matter.
Decency would be seen in her giving of herself and sacrificing her campaign time to vote on an amendment that would have cemented in the voters minds that she does care about these things. She did not. I'm sorry she failed you...but you cannot explain away her inability to muster the intestinal fortitude to stand up to corporate interests.

One of the candidates stood up for the rule of law and the other couldn't be bothered. Nuff said.

I am disappointed that Hillary did not do so.

She had a chance to put her money where her mouth is and she dropped the ball -- and you say this "doesn't matter".

Is that like any state that is not NY, MA, NJ, AR or CA not mattering?

45. Oh, well. She obviously thought it didn't matter.
Neither she nor Obama led on this issue. Their outrage was nonexistent. I respect Obama's taking time out from the oh-so-important job of becoming president, and for voting against the measure, but he did not lead.

That Clinton didn't show up at all says that she rates this issue as relatively unimportant. I'm saddened, but not surprised.

Why is it that neither one of our candidates seems to want to lead in the Senate? Why don't their beautiful slogans ever drive them to the front of the pack?

9. Your point is missed votes are a betrayal.
Well I am tired of being "betrayed" by both candidates not showing up to do the job they were elected to do.

I am disappointed in her missing this vote even though her vote would not have affected the margin or passage.

I was also disappointed when she did not make the 2nd vote for SCHIP.

I was disappointed in Obama missing both SCHIP votes, Kyl-Lieberman, the MoveOn resolution, the REAL ID vote among others.

I know you're trying hard to deny the incontroversial, but if you going to attempt to equate SCHIP with standing up for the rule of law...then you are hopeless in your psychological defense process.

19. What am I denying? I stated quite clearly that Hillary should have been there.
And that margin was not an issue.

Sorry I also consider voting the near passage of health insurance for children and the seeking to create a veto proof majority for such as incredibly important.

That I also consider that when a candidate claims a resolution could have set us on a path to war that he take the time to vote on said resolution.

"then you are hopeless in your psychological defense process."

Yes because blasting Hillary for missing a vote while not acknowledging Obama's missed votes is a sign of good psyhcological health!

I am a Hillary supporter saying she should have been there for this vote. That she has missed important votes along the way. That I mention Obama has missed quite a few important votes apparently is the worst thing ever.

I have to ask about the SCHIP votes though. What do they have to do with Hillary's health care plan?

The Clintonites here on DU are a picture perfect example of Freudian denial mechanisms at work. Watch their heads spin around and pop over this FACTUAL EVIDENCE of her caring more about herself than the rule of law.

Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. Excuses.
Her vote could have made the point REGARDLESS OF THE LIKELY OUTCOME that she stands up for the rule of law. Instead, her inaction shows that she stands up for her own selfish interests and the pursuit of power.

She's an embarrassment and I just love to see the EXCUSES offered by those who support her.

Hillary Clinton, A Bundle of Telecom Money....And A Strange Silence
October 26, 2007

Mike McCurry and Jamie Gorelick, who both served in the previous Clinton administration, have been raking in money as telecom lobbyists (Gorelick has been providing "strategic advice" to Verizon about obtaining immunity). And Howard Wolfson -- currently a senior advisor to the Clinton campaign -- is a partner in Glover Park, who represent Verizon. No doubt they'll all have some s'plainin to do if Hillary joins Dodd in his filibuster -- as Barack Obama and Joe Biden have already said they would do.

If as Hillary Clinton says she accepts lobbyist money and yet it doesn't influence her vote, wouldn't now be a nice time to prove it? I think we're at one of those moments where the rubber meets the road on that particular claim.

I have no doubt that Clinton, if she becomes President (which is doubtful), will never fail to place the interests of corporations above the citizenry.

I wonder how her traitorous actions against the RULE OF LAW will be viewed by Edwards and his pending endorsements?

Campaign scheduling is a fucking nightmare unless you are an incumbent president with Air Force One and a police escorted motorcade.

Those who criticize senators for missing votes due to campaigning don't have an appreciation of just how hard it is to run for president.
