Pelosi says that she and other 'party elders' will step into the ring to end the contest if needed..
A senior adviser to Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has suggested that she — along with other “party elders” — will step into the ring to end this extraordinary contest if it threatens Democratic hopes of winning back the White House or maintaining control over Congress. Ms Pelosi says that she is “torn” and that “the people will speak — that’s the beauty of a democracy,” before adding: “My focus is on re-electing a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives.”

4. See, I just wrote about that. I was right.

"The Clinton camp hopes to stop the Obama bandwagon by winning Texas and Ohio primaries on March 4, after which Mrs Clinton is planning to call on party grandees including Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives and Harry Reid, the party's leader in the Senate, to persuade Mr Obama to stand down."

6. This is the same Pelosi that put impeachment off the table
No thanks! The only way McCain could win the election is if those morons that call themselves "the party elders" were to subvert the popular will by appointing the nominee.

8. I've also heard that Pelosi and Reid were the two most sought-after endorsements
for the candidates. Beats the hell of of me why.

And Nancy, with you at the helm, it doesn't seem to matter if there's a Dem majority in the House or not. You keep fucking up.

23. Well, perhaps all people over 50 should be assassinated.
That appears to be what corporations want, then they don't have to pay them for experience and we are unnecessary in politics, being much too old to matter. Sounds like good old Germany to me. Some people on this board are really "bad to the bone".

10. I Have This Theory: Hillary Bound the Women Legislators Into Her Campaign
Made them all kinds of deals, and the ladies are sticking to it, even and especially when doing Hillary's bidding contradicts the public demands.

Not having enough smarts to read the writing on the wall, these Hillarybots are sticking to the program.

Would that they had such loyalty to the nation, or their constituents, or the Constitution.

We'll know in a year if my theory holds water or is all wet.

16. If it was Obama that figuratively had that kind of support, you
would say it was as a result of his fantastic organization skills. WOW, ya'll are something else; I just can't figure out what.

27. Yeah, but you don't seem to have a problem with an Obama coup?
I know, you wouldn't call it that if it were Obama, like I said, he would only be guilty of smart campaigning.

11. I've suspected for these past few months
That Hillary's and Bill's relationships with the congress and by extension the SD's, that the table was all set for them to take the victory from the jaws of defeat if it ever came down to that. I'm afraid for the remnants of our democracy when back room deals decide the nominee.

22. I can't agree with you....

I think you're mistaken. I think that these people know they have to go with the pledged delegates - I think they know it hands McCain the election on a plate (and rightfully and thankfully so if they were to use dubious means to secure Clinton the nomination) because he has the ultimate card to play against Hillary Clinton - "Your own party's pledged delegates didn't even nominate you! Voters rejected you!"

In fact, I'd like to see Obama reject the Democratic party and run as an independent under such circumstances - That would really ruffle a few feathers and maybe then there would be a true movement to speak of.

21. Oh Jaysus no. There is no need for interference from Congress or
the Supreme Court for that matter in this. Only the people should decide this. If Congress does, then they are no better than the Supreme Court handing Bush the Presidency in 2000.
