Proud Huckabee voter here
Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 06:16 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I thought I'd vote for Biden out of cussedness (he was on the ballot), but after polls showing Huckabee moving in VA the Huckabee temptation was too great to resist. (You can vote either side in VA)

With the Dem contest in little doubt here, it seemed the most beneficial available action to further Dem chances in '08. (Certainly more beneficial than voting for Biden would have been)

And in that sense, I voted for Clinton and Obama, since my objective was to best benefit the eventual nominee.

Anything that makes McCain look weak or stretches out the pug race has to be helpful. (Since we are stuck with an extended primary no matter what)

Nasty-ass weather, but decent turn-out, but we've never really had a meaningful national primary here, so no basis for comparison.

10. Voting is a goal-oriented action, not an inner-directed exercise
"Huckabee wins VA" is a more useful headline for all Democrats than "Hillary loses by one less vote than she might have otherwise in an epic blow-out"

We all should vote to maximize the political effect of that *action* toward a desired outcome.

8. Wow...
And I fear a McCain/Huckabee ticket more than anything. Wouldn't have been my move, but I think some folks underestimate the Huckleberry.

5. Funny
You're bolder than I could ever be. I want Huckster to do well but I don't think my flabby system would let me actually put the button for the Huckster. :scared:

Well, I guess you're making John McCain work a bit harder for the nomination. So that's a good thing.

12. According to DU rules a thread like this should be locked for...
promoting a non Democratic candidate. In this case I think there should be an exception. If I could I would vote for Huckabee just for the laughs.

19. I was able to vote in Mass for a repub because I'm unenrolled.
But I just couldn't do it. I have a lifetime of dedication to never voting for one of those fucks, and I couldn't ruin it, even for the sake of strategery. :)

That people who had supported other candidates and didn't have a preference between Clinton and Obama vote for Huckabee in VA. But people bit my head off for it.

I would feel so dirty (even though I agree with your premise!) voting for that bigot. He's losing to McCain, sadly, by nearly 10K votes.
