A message from Chelsea Clinton
My friends ask all the time: "What can we do to help your mom win?"

Well today I have an answer for them and for all of us who support my mom: we can make 1,000,000 calls.

OK, no one person has to make all 1,000,000 calls! But supporters like you and my friends are the best people to speak out on my mom's behalf -- and we need to talk to a lot of voters in the next few weeks.

It's simple: the more people we talk to about why each of us so strongly supports my mom, the more people will get out and vote for her.

If you sign up today to make calls for as little as an hour a week, you can help us reach 1,000,000 voters over the phone before the next big contests.

Please help my mom -- and all of us -- win by signing up to call voters for her campaign!

It's an amazing experience to meet so many people who are working so hard on my mom's campaign and to meet so many more who want to get involved and make a difference in this critical moment.

In less than three weeks, we're facing big races in states like Ohio and Texas. In fact, there are races all over the country where my mom needs help -- and we have to contact a lot of voters in a very short time! I know so many of you have shown a ton of dedication to my mom since Super Tuesday, and I'm sure that working together we will have no problem making our 1,000,000 call goal!

Can you help out? I hope so! Sign up for as little as an hour of calls a week, and you can make a huge difference toward reaching all those people in the next three weeks.

Sign up now to help us call 1,000,000 people for my mom.

Thank you so much for all you're doing to help my mom win!

Chelsea

that a person's character is most clearly reflected in how they raise their children.

but they're good kids, as you can plainly see by the photo. O8) Only good kids have their photo taken with Chelsea Clinton!

All kidding aside, Chelsea was simply remarkable. It was a memorable little event.

Just put a pleasant voice on, don't be afraid that they will hang up on you..they will. Lots of them.

Give it a try. You have nothing to lose but a few minutes.

25. Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. I've always done the "do you need a ride to the polling place?"
type of call and they were much appreciated.

You have to make contact with people. You have to reach out. Sometimes it works. Most times it doesn't. But it's real grassroots stuff.

And..it's kinda fun when you get people who are willing to talk and debate.

20. Kicked and Recommended by this Obama supporter
I am putting my money where my mouth is. I am a loyal supporter of Senator Obama. Lately my preferred candidate is doing well but it is yet possible that Senator Clinton's fortunes will rise anew. BOTH candidates are GREAT. Better yet BOTH candidates fill me with HOPE for the salvation of Democracy. I firmly believe that either candidate can and WILL trounce the mCcain ticket because he has pinned his fortunes on the bush doctrine of fear and war. I am aware that there will be mostly supporters of Senator Clinton viewing this thread and I want you all to know that I am profoundly thankful for your tireless support of this GREAT AMERICAN. Should she get the nomination you can count on me: I will enthusiastically and proudly give Senator Clinton my full support. We are indeed in this fight for DEMOCRACY together.

There has been FAR too much strife here in the DU between over-enthusiastic supporters of these two remaining Democratic candidates. This is not much but here is a tiny olive branch and I say to you all again: THANK YOU for giving me renewed HOPE for America.

37. Thank you and yes there ARE more like me...MANY MANY MANY more!
We The People want OUR country back and I am confident that we will turn out for the Democratic nominee in numbers only our Founding Fathers could have imagined! (They had an incredible vision and in spite of everything their vision still is functioning pretty well!)

This divisiveness here in the DU smacks more of 'fear' than anything else... who has used 'fear' to drive a wedge between Americans? EXACTLY!!!! We The People are WAY OVER fear as a motivator, we choose HOPE! Senator Clinton and Senator Obama give us that HOPE! If you have been working to bring either Senator this far you have aided in bringing America HOPE! For that you have earned America's most sincere gratitude.

We The People are the MANY I speak of who will back up my assertions come November. Senator Clinton, Senator Obama: You can ABSOLUTELY count on us because we KNOW that we can count on:
:patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot:YOU! :patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot::patriot:

43. hmmm more like mCcain today and jeb tomorrow
...if supporters of one Democratic Senator or the other Democratic Senator persist in driving this wedge of fear! Tell me, are you pleased that the repukes are so viciously divided? I know I am. That divisiveness will aid WE THE PEOPLE in reclaiming OUR DEMOCRACY by sweeping in a Democrat. I am a supporter of Senator Obama but that does not mean I think it is a good idea to throw Senator Clinton under the bus! She is fighting for Democracy, that means for you and for me and for everyone in America. mCcain is fighting for...well I ain't quite sure what he is fighting for these days but it smacks of bush...We The People have only barely survived bush!!!! We The People want CHANGE!!! Both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama CAN and WILL provide this CHANGE.

I hope We The People can count on YOU come November....we need you, America NEEDS you and I can argue that the whole world needs you! Do you suppose for instance that the citizens of Iran want Americans to stand on the sidelines chucking poo at each other as the mCcain "bull-shit express" waltzes into the White House and drops a nuke on Tehran? How silly and petty will our differences seem should that happen? Yes, I want Senator Obama to win but should this not happen I ABSOLUTELY want Senator Clinton to win. I will do everything in my power to ensure this victory and my efforts will not wait for one or the other Senator to be nominated, my efforts are ongoing! Join me, join us, join: We The People!

You already know in your heart that this is the right thing to do. Even IF you should choose to not openly show this support I am calling for, can I at least ask a cease fire to the snipe-age? This thread is obviously intended for those who support Senator Clinton. Her run is not fairing so well at this point, kicking her when she is down will gain support for our nominee how???? This divisiveness needs to end, We The People need a mandate this November one of numbers and we can only build on those numbers if we start NOW! HELP US MY FELLOW DUer, HELP US BUILD THOSE NUMBERS!

51. Please heed my words 2008spin: DEMOCRACY IS AT RISK HERE!
If you have not been tossed out of the Democratic Underground,or if you ghost in here later: I hope somehow you see this.

Democracy is at risk here!
Yes, I know already that you agree with that statement. Although we have differing reasons for our belief, we both, you and I have this in common! If you are an American, we share a love for our GREAT country. This is not bull-shit I am saying, AMERICA IS GREAT because of our Democracy! You know in your heart that this is true! Ask yourself, IS THERE A BETTER FORM OF GOVERNANCE? You already know that there is no better form of governance than DEMOCRACY. How many from Valley Forge to Falusia have died protecting her? Nobody knows that answer but no REAL American would willingly throw their efforts away...they did not die protecting some king or some dictator, they died protecting our very way of life, our freedoms, our DEMOCRACY!

Democracy means We The People, you already know this, it is a government OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE. Is anything I have said so far moon-bat barkings? Do you support my words so far? Yes I KNOW YOU DO! If you did not then why bother fighting for Democracy by posting on-line? Why not just say the hell with it and play video games instead? No, not you, you are like me in this, you are willing to fight for America by posting your thoughts on-line! See again we have things in common! I may not agree with this post of yours and I know you won't agree with mine but we really are fighting for the same thing!

Do you want a minority to have control over YOUR country? Do you want a small group of people deciding what is best for America? Do you want the terrorists to win???? I know that you do NOT want these things. I know that as an American you want WE THE PEOPLE to have this control, you want the very thing I want: DEMOCRACY!

Do you remember something in your history classes about the GREAT DEPRESSION? I ask you, where was the wealth of America back then? Was it in the hands of the poor? Was it in the hands of the Middle Class? Was it in the hands of the wealthy? NO, it was in the hands of the ULTRA WEALTHY! Yes, they earned their money with capitalism and it was THEIR money fair and square but THEY WERE THE MINORITY! They had absolutely no legal obligation to filter AMERICA'S wealth back through the hands of WE THE PEOPLE. So guess what, WE THE PEOPLE had to take it back! We did this through social programs like MINIMUM WAGE and UNIONS and SOCIAL SECURITY and our government created jobs. Would it have been otherwise, had we let that wealth go, American Democracy would be far different, it would have died!

Aren't you glad that did NOT happen? Would you have rather been born under some kind of feudal system with the Carnagies or the Rockafellers as our DYNASTIC KINGS? Go ahead, search AMERICAN HISTORY to see if my words are not so. The GREAT DEPRESSION did indeed happen, the wealth of America was indeed in the hands of a select few while the rest of us, while WE THE MAJORITY starved and froze. Many thousand AMERICANS died during those dark days. Then We The People took back our country, took back our Democracy from those few who would be our rulers. Like Spock said, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one!" Well We the MANY used our Democracy to change things so that wealth came back through our hands.

I know you are NOT for putting THAT minority back in control. Look at history: WHO put that power in the hands of the few? It was the Republican party! Who seeks to do it again? The Republican Party wants to keep piling on those tax cuts for the wealthy. They pass AMERICA'S WEALTH out to the few, NOT the many! Worse yet, they allow America's wealth into the hands of NON-AMERICANS!!!! The results are again that We The People are struggling! Who is AGAINST SOCIAL SECURITY, MINIMUM WAGE and growing our government with even MORE government jobs? Yes, it IS the Republicans again! Put yourself in the shoes of the ultra rich: Are you under any obligation to help out your fellow Americans? No! That is why WE THE PEOPLE must control our fortunes, that's what DEMOCRACY REQUIRES in order to survive! Don't you want your DEMOCRACY to survive? Be just a bit greedy here, it is OK to say YES! As turned around as this will sound: The Democrats are NOT about raising the taxes of the Middle Class or the poor! We are about strengthening the Middle Class and the poor because that is who WE THE PEOPLE really and truly are! We want to strengthen DEMOCRACY, not destroy her.

When WE THE PEOPLE are strong we can repel all aggressors who would destroy OUR democracy, you are an AMERICAN, please join us. DON'T GIVE DEMOCRACY AWAY TO ANY MINORITY, not to the terrorists nor to the ultra rich Americans not to the Saudi Arabians not to a small group of religious zealots not to ANYBODY. It belongs to ALL OF US and we WILL protect ourselves. If you can not trust in AMERICA'S DEMOCRACY...well then you simply do not belong here and ya know what? I think that you DO belong here because you have shown to me that you are willing to fight for her. Yes your method of fighting may seem ridiculous to most of my chums here in the Democratic Underground, yet your having chosen sarcastic posts are still a form of fighting and that is something I can respect. Join us in our fight to take back our country from the hands of this minority. We The People grow in power again, join us.

Take these words over to the Free Republic or to whatever conservative forum or blog you wish. Then come back here, come back and fight with me, scream and holler at me, whatever you like. Come back and give me a chance to say my piece, you are welcomed by me to say yours as well. As long as you follow the rules you can have an opportunity to give me your wisdoms and I want nothing more than the chance to give you mine. Don't you want America to be strong again? Well here is one small step that can be taken down that road.

57. You are so intelligent
I love what you wrote, I am so sorry that the person who you wrote it to will probably never bother to read it. They want to remain with their minds in only one direction... and never learn.

Thank you for your passoinate, and intelligent post. I, myself, really enjoyed reading it!

68. Thank you, I just hope the "freeper" sees it
I really do want to debate with him or her. I believe that the bush regime has deliberately divided We The People. Divide and conquer, divide and conquer, divide and conquer....it even goes on here in the DU between supporters of the two remaining Democratic candidates. I FIRMLY believe that America CAN be strong again if we can rally around those things we share. Please remember my words here, use them, help me re-unite Americans against our REAL ENEMY: "Capitalism Unrestricted" In the end it WILL destroy our very democracy if We The People can not somehow unite against it...it almost did during the Great Depression and those forces who aided in our near destruction have the same access to history you and I have. If they should win this time around.... well I'm NOT going down without a fight! Join me by reaching out to our strongest allies: WE THE PEOPLE! This fight is utterly NOT about republicans or democrats or greed or religion or anything other than a natural process of capitalism seeking to do what it does best: enhance it's own profit margins.

America can be strong by harnessing it's own capitalism but we must be ever vigilant lest that capitalism makes inroads into our government as it has done currently. The pill makers and the oil finders and the money lenders the insurers the bomb and bullet makers and etc. did not just come together and form a coalition against Democracy but individually they seek to maximize their own bottom lines: Profit! They use lobbyists to do this! Collectively they are taking away our Democracy! Collectively they grow stronger and stronger, it is a natural process and all the while We The People grow weaker and weaker. This terrible genie MUST be put back in it's bottle. If not, well...just look at the consequences which have already reached beyond our shores! Look at the chaos, the death and destruction it has already caused! We need that freeper, we need YOU, we need to come together to take back our democracy! If not things may get FAR FAR worse and I can not envision a way for American democracy to survive. 9-11 may indeed be the tiny wake-up call which we failed to take heed in.
