Two reasons why a Clinton /Obama or Obama/Clinton combo is NOT a dream Ticket:
1. Having Hillary on the ticket will turn off all the Independents and moderate Republicans now supporting Obama. At best, we would win the Presidency with a narrow margin and face a divided or possibly Republican dominated Congress.

2. The Big Dawg. Does anyone believe that Obama could govern with Hillary and Bill working out of the Vice-President's Office? Having seen how Al Gore was marginalized, does anyone believe that Obama would have a meaningful role as Vice-President?

1. Number 1
is just pure speculation.

Number 2 is a right-wing meme. How active has Bill been in Hillary's Senate career? Answer? Not at all.

6. I agree that it's speculation, but based on reports of how closely
Hillary was involved in Bill's administration combined with observations of how Bill has behaved during the campaign, I'd say this speculation has a strong basis.

2. Obama doesn't NEED Clinton
either one while she needs him...he won't be her VP for 2 reasons;

1: who would want to BE her VP with Bill being the co-president and
2: Obama's going to win the nomination anyway

3. Since when did any VP EVER have a meaningful role?
Dick Cheney is the only one that has ever taken aggressive control within an administration to this degree, and I don't think I want to see that trend repeated with anyone. The VP office is important and all, but it needs to take a step back to the pre-Dubya level.

5. When Biden was asked about possibly being a Clinton VP, he didn't say that
Bill would 'interfere' -- or try to run the WH again, just that his is an awfully big PRESENCE. It would have to have an effect on anybody in the WH, I'd think.

But Monkey Funk brings up a good point - it doesn't seem that he's had too much of a hands on involvement with Hillary in the Senate. :shrug:

I switch back and forth between thinking it would be a great idea, and then thinking it's a dumb idea.
