Obama cannot save the world - We Can
he creates the atmosphere of change, we will need to make the changes in our area:

Obama will make the changes he can at the top, that will effect us all, but gradually. We will have to make the changes in our community that can effect us immediately.

He talks about making the changes nationally, the war, health care, tax cuts for the working class. All good changes we need. But as a community organizer he knows that we will be the ones that make the changes in our community.

He is accused of being "vague". I don't see it that way. What you may need in your community may not be needed in mine. It would be a waste to make federal changes at the local level if they don't address the needs of the people there.

Each community has to access their needs and prioritize them, then go about making those changes.

Here we have a non profit organization, Information & Referral that is a 24 hour hotline to all the different agencies available locally to assist with any needs. They are on the verge of closing for lack of funds. That is the first thing I see that needs help here.

Next is the border. Arizona is a border state, illegal immigration is a big deal here. People die in the desert on a regular basis. Our medical system, educational system, local economy, environment, security, everything is affected. This has to be stopped. It is appalling that this form of modern day slavery is allowed and even encouraged.

I am hopeful, but it will take all of us working together. Obama cannot save the world. He can empower us to save our own world.

What needs to be changed or helped in your community?

1. Absolutely! That is exactly what the man has been saying all along!
Change must come from the bottom and not sprinkled on us from the top. This is the difference I've seen all along between Obama and Clinton. He knows that nothing will change unless the nation's people collectively strive for it.

2. This is the reason that people are supporting him
And why I find it so ironic that the Clinton supporters have turned "Yes We Can" into "Yes She Can." It really only makes the choice all the more clear.

If you believe that we as Americans can rise up again after the funk that was the past 8 years and take back our country and make into everything it was supposed to be. If you want leadership that calls us to do this and gives us the tools to do this, then vote for Obama.

If you think that Hillary can beat back all the Republicans and this election is a vindication for her. If you want Hillary in the White House dictating "solutions" to every problem we might encounter from the top down, than vote for Hillary.

3. Agreed. He speaks often of the need to motivate the public to work for change.
He makes an excellent point that all the plans in the world go nowhere unless there is a demanding public lighting a fire under all the politicians who have to be motivated to overcome the power of lobbies.

4. To me.. that non-Profit should be a Govt entity... non-Profit was a wonderful
thing inspired by the mighty Rockefeller clan in order to save themselves tax to the govt.. Since then it has been used to take a lot of funds from the govt resources and put them in the hands of private enterprises who decide who will benefit and who will not... Now, the local little community charity thingy down the street that is barely operating is not the non-profit thing I am speaking of.. these are the things that have sprung up because people do have hearts and don't like to see people, causes, or animals slip through the cracks because the govt is insufficient in handling the kinds of things we wish to see it handle...
