I think Bloomberg made a proposal that could not be ignored. Bloomberg would not run against Obama and Obama would bring in the nuts and bolts guy to complement his vision thing.

1. Maybe a cabinet slot, but not as VP. The party, and rightfully so, wouldn't allow him to put a repu
blican on the ticket.

4. He was a lifelong DEM until he ran for Mayor of NYC as a REP, now he has become an IND so that
he can run for POTUS, if he wants.

you got to give them credit for doing 'it' in public...
...I like Bloomberg and would prefer he stay in New York - he's much better than Guiliani ever was, but I'm sure he could bring great things to any administration.

6. definitely not for vp and how would such a "deal" for a cabinet spot be enforced?
The Democratic party isn't going to nominate bloomberg for the vp position, even if Obama wants it. If Obama gets the nomination -- and I think he will, but its not locked up yet at all -- he's not going to be in a position to simply dictate who his running mate is. Bloomberg gives him nothing on foreign policy, no regional pick up (the Democrats are going to win NY no matter who runs).

As for a "deal" for a cabinet post -- I doubt it. How exactly would Bloomberg enforce such a deal?

7. I think a deal was made, but not for Bloomberg as VP.
Maybe a Cabinet post or World Bank or trade representative or something.

8. If Bloomberg runs he has a 50/50 chance of winning, why would he settle for anything less than VP.

11. Bloomberg has almost no chance, especially against Obama.
I think he'd settle for whatever President Obama gives him.
