that don't want 4 more yrs of Bush. Which is what they will get with McCain. People are fat up with that garbage. Republicans are struggling with their bills and have kids in Iraq too. Don't just brush them off. There are going to be plenty who either stay at home or vote for Barack. I know one for sure who has two sons in Iraq. And would punch McCain and Bush in the face if he could.
17. They don't have to support our agenda - they simply have to renounce the
current Republican agenda - are they against the war? are they for restoring constitutional government? are they against Guantano Bay? Do they want to make sure that another reckless war in Iran is stopped? Do they want immigration reform?
That is enough
After the election we can argue about taxes and other policy issues. As long as they feel that they are closer to us than their leaders its good enough as long as we don't compromise our agenda.
McCain has been popular with independents and even with some crossover voters. It's crucial to have someone who appeals to independents. And if ever there was a year to get back some of the Reagan Democrats, who by now are registered Republicans, this is the year.
Not sure what that was all about. If it's authentic it's great.
There is a weird dynamic that the Clinton campaign has to deal with. Republicans have a chance to finish off Hillary. Will they take it, or do the smart thing and vote for Obama (for a number of reasons). I think the majority will not be able to resist.
15. I hope lots of regular Republican voters vote for Obama
Don't you? It will be a landslide in November. Oh I see, you are pushing the bullshit theory that Obama is winning because of Republican crossover votes.
16. Sad enough, unless those Republicans support our agenda, our agenda is going nowhere
With a 60% majority in the Senate needed, our reforms are going nowhere without peeling some of them off. I agree with your message, but deep down know any health care plan is doomed unless we have a charismatic leader who can make some conservatives see past the bigotry.
And now they face a choice of a 100 year war or a Democratic candidate. They are simply picking the Democratic candidate that they think they can work with the best.
