If you were accused of doing something you didn't do
(that made headlines in the New York Times), would your response be how "disappointed" you are with the article? Personally, I would state how "angry" I was. Both John and Cindy McCain kept saying how disappointed they were during the press conference that just ended.

Just Sayin...

1. They'd better hope there's nothing to it.
Now that it's been denied the digging around will really begin.

2. My response would be a lawsuit.
And I think any less than that, particularly from someone with so much at stake so close to an election, is more than likely an admission of guilt.

6. They've spent so much time building a chummy relationship...
...with the press. They thought they had a (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) relationship.

8. Disappointed, yes, because the NY Times
is a respected newspaper, unlike Faux News, that is assumed to investigate a story before publishing it, and not to print something just for its scandal effect.

Maureen Dowd notwithstanding.

9. What McCain should have said: " Ya know my friends, it's no secret
I have a temper, and ya know, I'm holding back right now. To say I'm outraged by these lies is a great misunderstatement. Cindi and I will be paying a visit to our attorney this afternoon to sue this scurrilous rag for their downright lies. There's not a word of truth here and Cindi and I will fight this tooth and nail." or something like that. This has Rove written all over it. He wanted Mittens, who has only suspended his candidacy, interesting days ahead.
