Poll question: Do You Matter?
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 06:10 PM by Kristi1696
I'm curious to see how many of our votes "matter".

Let's count the states that "matter" as:

-Those with 100 or more pledged delegates: New York, New Jersey, California, Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania.
-Let's add Massachusetts because it's in the Northeast and, thus, of greater importance
-Let's exclude Illinois (for obvious reasons)
-Let's also exclude North Carolina because of its unfortunate association with the South

ETA: Let's also add in Michigan and Florida because they mattered, before they didn't

Further edit: This post is meant to be sarcastic. I personally don't believe in the 'United States that Matter'.

1. If Hillary loses TX, will she write if off as "just a red state?" That would be hilarious.

11. Massachusetts matters more because it's in the Northeast??
Every state matters. Every vote matters. Pray that your vote will count. Then go vote for Barack Obama!!

13. Yes. Massachusetts is commonly listed among the states that "matter".
Even though it only has 93 pledged delegates.

(FYI, there's more than a little sarcasm in my post. I'm for Obama and detest this 'United States that Matter' bullshit)

We are a caucus state and we went for Obama big.

So, no, I certainly do not matter.

16. Good Lord, I forgot about the caucus issue.
I think each of the selected states are primary states though, so we're okay.

But yeah, you're doubly screwed. How do you even get out of bed in the morning? ;)

20. One foot at a time, usually
We are a small state. Usually a red state (though that is changing). A caucus state. An Obama state.

So yeah, we are so screwed.

But we are hosting the convention in August, so I suspect we will matter then, if only for a week.

We're a blue midwestern state with only 88 delegates. And we have caucuses, so we especially don't matter.

24. Technically you still matter.
Florida is a weird one for the Clinton campaign, but it appears to matter in the same vein that Texas matters.

In case you want to change your vote.

33. I'm in Nebraska.. but for the first time ever - thanks to OBAMA,
I feel that I do "count" somewhat. He came to campaign.. he needed our votes.

And, there is a small chance that we possibly COULD count for something and turn this red state blue in the fall. SMALL chance.. but better then any other dem running.
