Is Sheila Jackson Lee's Role as Co-Chair for HRC a Conflict of Interest?
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 10:37 PM by HopeforChange
I feel that Sheila Jackson Lee is wrong to be the campaign co-chair for Mrs. Clinton.

She is my Congresswoman and she represents many constituents who have not yet cast their votes and for her to choose to endorse one or the other is acceptable at this time but to co-chair the campaign I feel is very wrong.

I have in the past gone to the polls to vote for her but I feel betrayed that she should choose to take a leadership role when the jury is still out.

Am I wrong to feel this way. I will never vote for her again.

2. That kind of thing happens all the time. That's not to say that SJL deserves a vote, though.
She doesn't. So you're right in that conclusion.

3. Oh, please.
They are ALL picking sides. My Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson is openly for Obama. Don't ding her on this.

10. Yes, you're wrong.
Jackson-Lee has been a Clinton advocate for awhile now, and she's loyal which is okay by me, an Obama supporter. I don't agree with her at all, but that's the beauty of democracy and free will.

I used to love her, but one of my problems with her was on Bill Maher last year. Don't ask me why; I just know she pissed me off.

15. Give her a chance to react when her district goes 80% for Obama
Edited on Thu Feb-21-08 10:45 PM by thevoiceofreason
Then she ought to do the will of her constituents, although she has been known to think of herself first.

What's the phrase? "The most dangerous location in Texas -- between Sheila Jackson Lee and a camera."

26. It was political payback....Shelia still is a good person
When Obama wins she will be one of his greatest allies.

Does she support impeachment???

If you can answer that question then you know where she stands.

21. Sheila Jackson Lee has many annoying habits, but she votes right.
She's terrible to her staffers. She's got an ego the size of an elephant. She's nowhere near the person or congressperson Barbara Jordan or Mickey Leland were, whose seat she now holds. And she loves to see herself on TV, nonstop. Many of her colleagues despise her.

But, she votes right most of the time.

Senfronia Thompson also supports Hillary, and may have some problems in her district because of it.

I never favor replacing a Democratic congress critter who votes right and generally represent her or his district.

24. Well Pat Leahy endorsed Obama but I'll still vote for him.
What about Kennedy and Kerry? and Patrick? They actively campaigned for Obama. What about the majority who wanted Clinton? I fail to see your reasoning.
