Is Hillary dropping out before March 4th??
I saw someone posting such on Kos, then I saw that Jonathan Alter mentioned it tonight about Hillary 'possibly' giving it up before March 4th if she wanted to end the race as gracefully as possible. Alter said that the Clinton campaign will study the polls carefully and if they don't look promising, then he brought it up that Hillary may quit the race ahead of March 4th.

If she did that, he reasoned, that she will be in good light with both Obama and the party as a whole and set herself up for something good later on.

It's interesting. I don't see that happening, but then again, she did seem kinda wistful at the debate tonight. She said at the end that 'she was proud to be on stage with Obama...' It almost sounded like she didn't expect to see him again. It sounded like she was giving her last speech. It's like she didn't realize there was another debate to go.

1. If that's going to be the case then
I say sooner is better than later. She'd save a lot of money, heart-ache and work if she'd do it before too long. If her numbers don't look good she should cut her losses and go.

4. She will bow out if and when...
...she determines her candidacy is not helping the party and the country.

That's all there is to it and all there should be.

5. I think it would be the smart thing to do
As Alter said I think it would garner her a lot of goodwill. The writing is on the wall. She needs to win by big margins in Texas and Ohio to even begin to catch up and thats looking more and more remote as a possibility.

At this point it will take an incredible blunder by Obama to lose this thing and if anything the man has shown he is incredibly even tempered.

Ten days or whatever it is now though is a long time. A miracle could happen but I think the odds are long and the benefits of getting out early far outweigh any chance she has of wining.

8. Her chance to win ended on the night of the patomac primary.
It was obvious Obama was going to win HI and WI on 2/19. You can't bounce back from 10 losses in a row. She's just dragging things out.

9. She sees the writting on the wall, I Think
She cannot win, it is too late. She cannot attack without it backfiring. She cannot rally people to a greater extent than he can. She is stuck, she has been beaten. She doesn't want to pull out, but she also wants a future. She expected to win this thing as recently as Super Tuesday, and she is very upset, and doesn't want to face the reality of not getting to be President. She thinks she earned it, it is her, and she now knows, it ain't gonna happen for her this time around at least.

12. I think she's waiting for a few more polls, we might see something mid-week.
If the polls suggest she's falling fast, then I wouldn't be surprised if she dropped out. If the polls still show a victory, even if it's by 5 points, I can see her staying in.

she'd be finished.
