Fast Forward to 2012 if BO wins the presidency
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 11:07 AM by glenhappy
Just some pessimism for a dreary Friday.

Fast Forward to 2012 if BO wins the presidency:

We will probably still be in Iraq. The economy won't be much better. There may be a draft (or Obama's national service for college deal). There will be fake scandal after another ala Whitewater. He will be hounded and torn to shreds and lied about in the corporate media. The GOP will block the Demz best reforms. The Demz will lose seats in 2010. The GOP will send one Impeachment bill up after another. Obama's wife will be called names and face the same thing Hillary is, if she ever tries to run for office.

Remember what goes around comes around.

(PS: I will vote for him if he gets the nominiation.)

1. We may still have some troops in Iraq
but they won't be dying every day like they are now.

29. Yeah guys because the OP totally has clairvoyance
and can be sure this will happen.

Christ, who's to say that the country won't go to shit under Hillary? While we're making baseless predictions, I predict that under a Hillary presidency the legislature will fight bitterly over the tiniest piece of legislation, the economy will be in a tailspin, and she will continue to appease the few war hawks left by continuing the Iraq war "in the interest of national security".

Also, people will be forced to wear duck suits, walk backward, and speak Urdu.`

6. ridiculous. Clearly you'd love to that happen and that's truly
sick. You have no fucking way of knowing what's going to happen in the next four years, but you'd love to have Obama be a failure. Damn the country and damn the world. You certainly don't give a damn. That's just selfish and repugnant. The tip off that you'd like to see this happen: "Remember what goes around comes around".

11. God No! I don't want that to happen!
How old are you? Haven't you seen what the corporate media do? All the lies against Clinton, Gore, and Kerry?

You think Obama will be different.

Hell, I hope so.

But, I just think you need to be prepared.

If Obama wins the nomination, a day or two after the convention, you will start to see what the Corporatists have in store for him.

I wish him all the luck.

But you must be prepared. It will get REAL UGLY!

14. Of course it will get ugly
It's how he handles it that will matter. And I'm not quite as conspiratorial as some here. I think the media can be managed by shrewd people. Clinton, by and large, did a decent job of it.

8. I've thought about this ...
In fact, here's EXACTLY what I've thought ...
Wouldn't it be better to just "give" Hillary the nomination ...
At least HER family can't be destroyed.
Everything and anything that could possibly be done to a First Family has ALREADY been done to the Clintons.
What more damage can the repukes do?
Whereas, with Obama ... there's nothing but HELL ahead for him and his family. This saddens me deeply.
I must admit, Hillary is HARD-CORE.
She's tuff enough, and mean enough to handle all the $#!T! She already KNOWS the ropes.
Sometimes I FEAR for Obama, and what lies ahead for his his family.
They are young and beautiful ... and really haven't suffered the VICIOUSNESS of Washington politics.

16. Probably none of that
except the economy and assorted mega crises concerning population, health and global warming. That is the huge problem that cannot have an easy or painless solution. That problem is so bad that worrying about the GOP even pales by comparison. The entire geopolitical structure will be faced for the first time by someone who is not simply playing insider games that stave off responsibility(or can pretend to). he will be criticized by all sides as things must be dealt with.

OH! Yeah, much the same.

It will definitely be a mess, inherited from AWOL. And the Corporate lying media will smear any Democrat.

Again, I just want the neophyte Obama supporters to be prepared for the hell that awaits from the GOP and their Corporate shill media.

25. Right.. and if we just "elect Hillary".. all of those things will go away, right?
She'll pull everyone out of Iraq immidiately and leave no one else to facilitate anything?
She's less or more likely to have a draft then Obama?
She & her husband are totally incapable of scandals.. so that would never happen.. :eyes:
The GOP will open all of Hillary's proposals that they'd shoot down from Obama :eyes:
Hillary will somehow help downline dems in 2010??
Hillary's spouse won't be called names at all, umm.. maybe they'll have a tough time coming up with new ones?

Yeah.. what goes around does come around, which is why Hillary is having a tough time getting elected.

26. What exactly is your point?
Are you pessimistic and cynical by nature. Should we not try?
Just capitulate to the dark forces of the world?

I frankly have a different vision. In 4 years, with a strong Democratic Congress and
the support of the citizens of this country, Obama will have rolled back much of the
damage that has been done by the Pukes.

Habeas corpus will protect us from our government. Our constitution will be strengthened.
Our governmental processes will be more open than in decades. The tax structure will be
more fair.

He will have a set a new agenda that is rebuilding our infrastructure, refitting our economy
with green technologies, greatly expanding the availability of health care for all of us.
He will have addressed the shortfall in Social Security and addressed Medicare.

Our image in the world, especially in the Middle East will be vastly improved.
We will be a leader in guiding the world through the climate crisis.

Guantanamo will be closed. Torture will no longer be part of our interrogations.
We will be mostly if not completely out of Iraq.

The people of New Orleans will be on their way to having their city back.

Obama with the help of the Democratic Senate will have appointed two strong
and young liberal Justices to the Supreme Court.

In other words, we will be feeling much more optimistic about our country's future
than we have in decades.

And we won't have to grab the remote every time the announcer says and now
the President of The United States.
