NEWSWEEK: Bush 45, Kerry 43, Nader 5 (plus Iraq, $87 Bil. Reaction)
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 11:34 AM by TheStateChief
Don't have a link - watching it on MSNBC. The poll guy says the support for Nader is weak and, head-to-head, Bush and Kerry are tied at 48-48.

Some other results they're showing:

93% say Iraq War is very or somewhat important.
78% say the economy is very or somewhat important.
74% say terrorism/homeland security are very or somewhat important.
72% say education/healthcare are very or somewhat important.

Was Military Action in Iraq the right thing to do?

Yes: 57%
No: 37%

Should the U.S. reduce number of troops in Iraq?

Yes: 55%
(they didn't give a "No" percentage)

Are we spending too much money in Iraq?

Yes: 53%
(they didn't give a "No" percentage)

Does Kerry's "no" vote against the $87 billion make you:

Less Likely To Vote For Kerry: 27%
More Likely To Vote For Kerry: 20%
No Difference: 49%

1. 57% still just don't get it.
Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror. That is the most frustrating number. WAKE THE F**k UP, PEOPLE !!

3. Look at the bright side
A majority of people are either more like and don't care about Kerry's $87 billion vote.

The war is important, it was the right thing to do, but we're spending too much freaking money????!!!!! Are they idiots or what? :grr: What do they think? Wars are free/cheap? Damn idiots.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, this tells us who we need as our VP. WESLEY KANNE CLARK! The war/Iraq IS an ssue...we need Clark on the ticket. It's a must. IMCPO

7. This entire week has been just one long commercial

for BUSH! Two solid days were spent on *breaking news* about Bin Laden's right hand man being "cornered" by the Pakistani's. Any time, any time now, uh, any time now he'll be captured they said over and over again. Nothing happened. The guy's still on the run, just like Bin Laden. They have egg on their faces but nothing seems to shame them.

The cable channels: Faux, MSNBC, CNN, etc. wouldn't let go of this story. Then they would patch in video clips of Bush with his adoring supporters giving silly speeches all over the place talking about the "killers" and "evil doers" and slamming Kerry. They were also running his anti-Kerry ads---often, and unopposed by Kerry here in California. Kerry better start running some good strong ads here in California because it's making me very nervous.

The media was giving Bush a lot of free air time at the taxpayers expense. This was done at the request of the White House and the press always gives Karl exactly what he wants.

I was watching MSNBC the other day, and their poll showed that 49% of people thought the Iraq war was a mistake.

Bill O Liely also said on his show that most polls showed half of Americans thought the war was a mistake, and Bush/Kerry evenly split (even in the Fox poll).

10. Why Don't They Ask If Kerry's Alternative Iraq $$$ Preferred
Where he called for immediately rolling back some fat cat tax cuts to pay for the extra money needed? Or if they support Kerry's bill to compensate families that bought body armor out of their own pockets? Or could military action against Iraq have been handled more efficiently?

These polls are very much skewed to follow Bush's simplicity.
