Latest Rasmussen Polls from the "Other" states
While everyone pays attention to Ohio and Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont have gotten little mention. Rasmussen released polls for both states today and here are the results.

Clinton leads RI 53 - 38

Obama leads VT 57 - 33

While the Vermont numbers probably do not surprise anyone, Rhode Island is interesting. While the gaps in Ohio and Texas have closed, and in the case of Texas possibly already flipped to Obama, it seems Clinton has a lock on Rhode Island.

1. VT is one of those states that doesn't matter
and RI clearly shows that Sen. Clinton has the gumption/experience/whatever to lead from day one.

Unless, of course, Sen. Obama overtakes her and wins by a small margin. Then it also won't matter.

(Didn't polling show a much closer race in WI)

5. They had Obama up by 1% in WI
with 8% saying they would vote for someone else and 4% not sure. In the end only 1% voted for another candidate and Obama won by 17%. I see where you are going, but there were many other polls out for WI showing Obama leading by more. These are the first polls I have seen for RI or VT since Wisconsin, we will have to wait to see what other polls show.

2. Are there any numbers on WV?
Not that our votes will count, anyway, since we don't vote until May. Sheesh. This primary system needs a major overhaul.

3. Rhode Island is one of those states where "people get it"
Unlike those other 25 states Obama has won.

I'll go on record as to say if Clinton wins Rhode Island, it won't be more than 5 points.

4. RI is the most Democratic state, and an old school "machine" state. Hillary does well with Dems.

It also has a good demographic for her
Vermont, of course, is just as democratic as RI, and more liberal. Also the most anti-war state. In addition, Clinton doesn't do well in rural areas and that's 95% of Vermont. I actually think she'll end up 30 to 35% behind him here.

15. I'm sure Vermont is more liberal
RI is often cited as the most Democratic state, which I assume is a party registration measure.

Since different states have different registration rules, it wouldn't be surprising if the most Democratic state was not the most liberal... Vermont might have a much higher percentage of Dem voting, very liberal people who are registered as independents.

10. Polls
Let's Remember Obama killed her In Wisconsion. Also when she does win a state she tends to be closer than polls suggest.Vermont doesn't surprise me.Rhode Island could be closer than the poll suggests.
March 4 could end up with Obama taking Texas narrowly and winning huge In vermont and Hillary
narrowly taking Ohio, and Rhode Island(although we shouldn't count out Obama there too)

8. Something strange here

In RI, Clinton lead by 25 pts among men, 3 pts among women? RI is an open primary
(dems and unaffiliated). It's not noted whether the polling extended to Independents.

I find it hard to believe that Clinton could be that far ahead at this point.

14. Just released from HRC Campaign
Rhode Island,

Officially known as State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations is the state that is most equipped to decide who should be our next president for the following reasons:

-Rhode Island was the first of the thirteen original American colonies to declare independence from British rule

-Rhode Island is one of the most reliably Democratic states during presidential elections, regularly giving the Democratic nominees one of their best showings. In 1980, Rhode Island was one of only 6 states to vote against Ronald Reagan

-In the 1984 Reagan landslide, Rhode Island provided Walter Mondale with his 3rd best performance

- Rhode Island was the Democrats' best state in 1988 and 2000 and 2nd best in 1996 and 2004

-Rhode Island gave John Kerry a greater than 20 percentage point margin of victory (the third highest of any state) with 59.4% of its vote

-All but three of Rhode Island's 39 cities and towns voted for the Democratic candidate

-The Fox show Family Guy takes place in a fictional town in Rhode Island named Quahog

-The nautical nature of Rhode Island's geography pervades its culture. Newport Harbor, in particular, holds many pleasure boats

-A now defunct professional football team, the Providence Steam Roller won the 1928 NFL title

-Fort Adams, on Narragansett Bay, was the setting for the finish of Eco-Challenge 1995.

If Sen. Obama is not able to win in this one of the most Deomocratic States of the Union which is famous for its cultural, athletic, ecological leadership then he should to the party and the country a favor and quit the race
