Is the Bush Administration making Americans Safer?

Of course , this is the rallying cry of the Bush Admin, that we must reelect him because he is strong on nat'l security & the war on terror.

But with the publication of Richard Clarke's book, finally, the Bush team is being questioned on their credibility as to the War on Terror, & the deception involved in leading us into Iraq.

But what is not being talked about, is how the NeoCon Bush Admin. is placing Americans in more peril, based on their wrongheaded Israeli-Palestinian policy.

Today, the Hamas Group threatened the US, because of the Israeli assassination of their leader. The US did not reprimand Israel, or try to take a balanced position. The Palestinians know that American tax dollars are used for the war waged against them.

I post this, not as a discussion of Israeli/Palestinian matters, but as a discussion of US foreign policy, & the Bush Administration's claim that they are making us safer.

Hamas targeted the US Marines, stationed in Lebannon, & many were killed. Reagan then withdrew the troops, & as far as I know, Hamas & Hezbollah, have not targeted us since.

The plan of the NeoCons, & PNAC was always to involve us in the Middle East War. They have sought to align our FP with that of Israel.
After 9/11, the point was made that the US is now in a war just like Israel's, which made absolutely no sense.

As we have seen in Iraq, they were no danger to Americans, however, we have become an occupying force, just like Israel. And by our implicit support of Israel, in their war, we have now become accomplices, & we are now the target of Hamas terrorism.

How has the Bush MidEast Foreign Policy made us safer? This is a significant issue for the 2004 election. Do we move back towards a more balanced policy, try to restart negotiations between the parties, or do we continue the destructive Bush policy?

If Bush wins reelection, Perle, Wolfowitz, Adleman, Cheney, Rumsfeld, & all the other PNACers win. And Americans will become bigger targets from terrorists around the world, who are growing in numbers & hate by the day.

But will the misinformed public get this?? Not unless we give money to our candiadate so they can buy ads...

We are fatter targets than ever. Does *anyone* on the globe think more highly of us now that we have unilaterally flattened Iraq, and thumbed our nose at the global comunnity in the process?

This insane administration has only sown the seeds of hate. Sad to say that we will no doubt reap the harvest one day.
