Why isn't more being said about Hillary playing the gender card?

People should be outraged the way Hillary keeps playing the gender card. You talk about absolute pandering and double-speak. Yet again, in one breath she'll say the race should not be about race or gender but entirely on merit. In the very next, she says that it would be a great, wonderful, and awesome change to have "a woman" in the White House. She has made these blatently condradictory statements (as she has done with so many others) in the debates, including last night's debate, and she did so again in a PBS interview today. As Olberman has pointed out, "What if Obama said, 'You should vote for me because having a black man in the White House would mean a great change for the country.' " People would be screaming, "He's playing the race card, he's playing the race card !"
Hillary has re-packaged herself time and again. She has played every dirty card there is. People should be disgusted with this completely hypocritical tactic. Hillary, if you say you are running on your merits alone, then kindly try doing so.

Gender and race are, for SOME voters, one-issue votes. Some vote for Hillary because they are women. Some vote for Barack because he's a man (certainly that is happening, as well). Some vote for Barack because he's half African-American. Some vote for Hillary because she's Caucasian.

Some vote for McCain because he's anti-abortion. Some vote for Hillary because she's introduced legislation about domestic violence. Some vote for Barack because he gave an anti-war speech.

All of these constitute one-issue votes. To those who vote, those issues are MOST important. Everyone has a right to decide what their most important issue is, and whether or not they want to decide based on this one most important issue.

If a candidate said this, how sexist would that be?

It doesn't matter what she does now. No amount of coverage is going to change that. The people have decided.

Now think for a minute, who is holding an X-card that can antagonize 87% of the population, and who is holding one that can antagonize 48% of the population?
