The good news: It's snowing in Texas tonight and not tomorrow
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 10:18 PM by rainbow4321
Possible bad news: Roads are going to suck big time early tomorrow morning so the local radio news channel I listened to was encouraging people to go later in the day, perhaps on their way home from work. Temperatures are supposed to eventually get to the 50's.

Given the historic turnout we are about to have, this could get ugly late afternoon and the polls are only open til 7 pm.

They added "IF you are aliready IN line at 7 pm, you can vote, if you are delayed, oh, say, by snarled traffic on bad roads and get there after 7, you won't be allowed to vote.

So, the way I understand it, if one doesn't vote they don't get to caucus?? So any delay in people getting to the voting booths could turn into a caucus problem??

Note: I'm talking about the North Texas area...everyone below us should be fine (hopefully)

2. It'll be fine here in the DFW area
I think it's further north of us that'll be bad. It's been too warm for any of it to stick to the roads.

3. Hope so....it's snowing heavy and sideways right now in Plano
I know it won't stick to the roads but you know how Texans are when it comes to the roads and driving...road **puddles** send them into a tailspin (literally).
I was just thinking anyone who was planning on voting on their way to work may forego it til later in the day in anticipation of a LONG, SLOW drive to work in the morning. Thus leading to the morning voters to pile on top of the afternoon voters and the whole system getting backed up.

4. We're going to have a huge Ice storm in VT tomorrow....so is Ohio!

The voting isn't going to Tell the true story. Many OLD and VERY WISE Hillary supporters will dare not venture out in ice storms. I don't blame them! They're smart women!

6. Torrential rain, flood watch for 11 counties in eastern Ohio -- some precincts moving . . .
. . . to higher locations. Some citizens expected to be stranded because of high waters. Etc., etc., etc. Also: Freezing rain advisory for 4 of those counties.

17. Yesterday -- Monday, that is -- was sunny and a mild 67F; and, here it is . . .
Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 03:59 AM by Petrushka
. . . 3 AM Tuesday morning and the temperature has only dropped down to 50F. A couple of nights ago, temps were in the single digits and snow was falling; today, all of the snow that had fallen (off and on) for the past week or so, melted. Like it or not, rain's a-comin' when the ground is already saturated. With flood watches (as well as rockfalls and mudslides), who knows how many folks in eastern Ohio won't be out voting?

==============
Edited to add: Flood watch for the following counties in Ohio:

Belmont
Carroll
Columbiana
Coshocton
Guernsey
Harrison
Jefferson
Monroe
Muskingum
Noble
Tuscarawus (sp?)

11. Huge ass flakes coming down now
Just drove to pick up my daughter from work and it's kinda disorienting with them going vertically towards the windshield.

It's gonna be an ugly primary election day morning here. Good luck to the people in the long lines!

It'll all be gone tomorrow mid-day (into the 50's)...sounds like Ohio may get a worse weather situation.

Politics aside here for a second: Stay safe EVERYone.

On a lighter, more political note...Sen Obama was quoted in the Dallas Morning News campaign trail blog as saying he liked Texas..specifically the "75 degree weather". Looks like he unintentionally brought some SNOW back with him on his flight back here!!

8. Didn't somebody keep polls open late two hours this primary season?
By a judicial order? Because of snow?

Eeeek.

16. Feh. It's March.
We're used to late-winter freezing rain in Ohio.

We'll still "march" to the polls. We're not exactly shrinking violets when it comes to weather in Ohio. :-)
