Politics As Usual.
I awaken this morning to find Hillary Clinton making a statement about herself and John McCain having lifetimes of experience and all that Obama has is a speech from 2002?? We are gradually sliding back into the "normal" sphere of politics. The election in November is starting to look more and more predictable. We can now return to the red state/blue state politics.

It was only a matter of time before the voters came to their senses. This illusion of the country coming together and people becoming inspired to getting involved in hopes of changing their country has been, at least temporarily, derailed. The "experience" of the professional politicians has won the moment.

After all, "change" is just a word. George W Bush ran on "change". How would we know that Barack Obama's "change" would be any different from George W Bush's "change"? It's much safer to stick with what we know. That is the mentality that is enemy of progress.

Now, we can return to the exciting election returns of this coming November. We can subtract the millions and millions of new voters that were inspired to come out and vote in this primary. We can return to the predictability of those that always vote the Party line. It's so much easier. We can now all breathe a sigh of relief that politics is returning to its normal state.

1. An unfortunate tack by the Clinton campaign.
For many Dem voters her remarks remind them that Obama is the greater communicator and that her campaign has been pimping "plagiarism" and "As far as I know he's not a Muslim" negativity for the last several weeks.

It's no wonder the Clinton campaign is struggling. She could win both Ohio and Texas today but if she doesn't emerge with some kind of idea to thread her candidacy, the tripswitch for superdelegates to align with her opponent will be set to 'On.'

To bolster McCain at the expense of her opponent to advance herself is not, IMO, a worthy strategy for a national political campaign.

2. She should be called out to explain that comment...
Before it makes its way into a Republican commercial. This is a blunder by Hillary. She needs to come out and correct her remarks now.

3. HRC is psychologically incapable of admitting a mistake.
The best she could come up with would be "I certainly never thought anyone would misinterpret my comment."

4. what a stupid remark from her...
I can't believe she actually lifted up a republican while tearing down an ally ---that is, the last time I looked the Democratic candidate is STILL a Democrat, right...!?!?

5. Hello, kentuck. Good morning and yes, I agree with you.
My hunch is she would never have made that remark to Jim Lehrer in private because he would have raised his eyebrow.

She made it where it would get maximum play and it really kind of sucked, IMO.

6. I agree, Old Crusoe...
It kind of sucked. And unless she corrects it, it will come back to haunt our nominee if it is Obama?

8. She's done this more than once, so I doubt it was a mistake on her part.
She knew exactly what she was saying.

Here's a link to two videos of her saying something similar:

7. She's a Democrat in name only
that's been proven the last couple days. No loyalty to the party, just to herself.

11. unbelievable.......
This is very hard for me to say but I will not be voting for her in November no matter the circumstances. I am a feminist who spent two years working on a thesis with feminist themes and I cannot vote for the woman in this race because my morals will not allow it. Her tactics and statements just make me sick....... I for one am tired of awarding bad behavior with my vote because it is the "lesser of two evils". I won't do it again. This time the lesser evil will just have to try and make it work without the likes of me. I am so sorry......but it just isn't a possibility for me anymore. Does anyone else understand how devastating that feeling is?
