3. Who decides what is best for the party?
I suppose its the other candidate! Perhaps this is why they had smokey back rooms 40 years ago.

4. Mine did -- now is the time to solidify behind one - anything else is selfishness
Either that or conscious party destruction.

9. Loaded question.
Many (on both sides) feel that the opposing candidate is bad for the party.

10. Been there, and in hindsight, sadly -- yes, I do.
I was crushed about JRE dropping out. I understand now that it has turned into a complete bloodbath.

I still think he would be an amazing president, but he was up against history-making candidates ans a history-hungry nation (after the disasterous Bush Cabal years).

While I miss his voice, I think he did the right thing.

It is still sad, though.

12. It's only good for half the party.
The other half will be sorely disappointed and really pissed off. And those pissed off include the largest blue states. All the way to the convention.

16. Mine already did because he's a quitter
like the only thing I wanted him to not be. Soooo...I don't think that was good for the party. The party is lost as far as I can see. But it's fun having delusions.

so the nominee can fight McCain.

20. Mine are both already gone
Without my approval and, in my opinion, to the detriment of the party.

The party can count on my vote in the fall for the Democratic nominee - whichever of the two is chosen - for the good of the country, not the party. I left the Democratic party some time ago, and I no longer vote the straight Democratic ticket.
