Time to fight, Barack!
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 07:38 AM by TheZug
I'm all for a clean fight and a message of hope.

But now Hillary "Rove" Clinton has dragged this contest into the sewer.

If you have it in you to win the general election, then you're going to have to show you can fend off her nastiness.

John Kerry failed in 2004 when he wouldn't fight the swift boaters. This is your swift boating moment, Barack.

Time to hit back, and hard.

1. So you want Obama to do a 180 and go against his earlier cmapaign pledges?
Wasn't this the campaign about new ideas and new politics? Now you want him to get down in the mud? By all means go right ahead, as he'll be wide open for charges of "hypocrite".

2. No--there's a difference between swift boating and refusing to be swift boated.

3. Now is the time to bow out for Obama
Seriously, he has yet to win a "blue" state that matters in the GE. Winning red states is mere vanity.

4. She did not win the "blue" states by any great margins. And the "blue" states always vote
Dem in the GE. Plus she had early voting and name recognition and the coronation on her side. He'll win them in the GE, no doubt.

5. LOL. Thanks for the talking point. He has won more blue states than she did.
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 08:06 AM by Mass
And until last night, as many big states than she did.

Blue states won

Obama:
WA, HI, MN, WI, IL, ME, CT, MD, DE, VT

Hillary:
CA, MA, NY, RI, NJ

9. Ok, Einstein, explain to me how any Democrat gets to the white house
without Minnesota, Wisconsin, Maryland and Illinois?

19. Maryland, DC, Delaware, Connecticut, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont and Maine are all red?
Show me an electoral college scenario where we win without those states.

6. Don't worry. He's got something for both, Hillary and McCain.
There are other ways of fighting than swift boating, i.e., more than one way to skin the cat. He'll be like a S.W.A.T.

it is too his credit that he hasn't. Maybe someone should do it for him. You know "toughen her up" for the GE.

8. It's really sad that negative wins. I don't want Obama to go negative -
but I kind of agree with you. I hate Hillary Clinton.

12. I agree. If she wins, I'm done.
She will not be able to beat McCain and I have better things to do with my time.

13. disappointed with results from last nite.
but Obama still has outnumbered Hillary with delegates. There are still 12 more states to go, this is not over yet. But in a way Obama is too good, too humble, but I feel he can fight back hard. We still have a ways to go.

14. He has to show that he can 'fight'
He can't get into the sewer with Clinton, but he has to show that he can take and land punches. I think they played 'prevent defense' over the past week and they got burned by the clintons' kitchen sink strategy.

16. Right on target ! Obama has to get in the driver's seat.
You NEVER win a defensive fight. Obama has to continue his positive message of hope and unity, but he also MUST: 1) Take the fight to Hillary as the establishment candidate of the PAST and NOT the candidate of CHANGE for the FUTURE. 2) GET MORE SPECIFIC on his credentials and his plans for change and HAMMER THEM HOME. 3) Put the Rezco, Canadian/NAFTA Conversation, religion, and name issues BEHIND him once and for all. He needs to start getting ahead of the ball, driving the debate, and setting Hillary back on her heels.
