"Osama for Obama" t-shirt worn by Clinton supporter @ Clinton's election night party in Columbus

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/03/controversial-c.html

ABC News' Kate Snow and Eloise Harper report: A controversial party guest was spotted at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's election night party in Columbus, Ohio Tuesday.

He was hard to miss. He was the one wearing the "Osama for Obama" t-shirt.

Columbus resident Todd Elbaum told ABC News his friend makes the t-shirts.

Elbaum did not hold back on his views of Obama when he was interviewed by ABC within full view of a Clinton staffer.

"The truth is he was born a Muslim, his father was a Muslim, his mother married a Muslim after divorcing his father. His grandfather was a Muslim. It doesn't matter. But what does matter is when Obama said he was never a Muslim. He was a Muslim. He was born a Muslim. He was a Muslim for six years of his life," Elbaum said.

Obama supporter here - but an honest one - I have tracked these type of RW players before, and for many cycles.
Often the same ones show up again and again.

Many of the most ridiculous asses in both camps here on DU or elsewhere are all-to-clever "operatives" - this has long been a factor. We should always say "Hmm" rather than "Oh those X supporters are so...!!!"

High five for the sleuthing, fellow DUer.

As Molly Ivins might say, "Good on ya."

13. If you think it is wrong....
then you really don't believe in free speech. You believe in free speech for some and censorship for others. If it has said "Osama for McCain" would that have been OK?

You bring up a very interesting point. There were several cases of
censorship in the past few years when people wearing anti-Bush (or war) T-shirts were escorted out of Bush gatherings. I didn't agree with this censorship. And in the case of the "Osama for Obama" T-shirt, I hate the message, but the person has the right to wear it. My personal feeling is that the message is "wrong"- that the implication of Osama supporting Obama is ridiculous. Osama for McCain is also ridiculous.

I think I can believe something is wrong, and tolerate it because I believe in free speech. And I use the word "tolerate", not "support."

48. Ties to Rod Parsley (Controversial RW Pastor):
Patriot Pastors

By: MARILYN H. KARFELD Senior Staff Reporter

-snip

Todd Appelbaum, a 44-year-old native Clevelander who has lived in Columbus for the past 25 years, attended the event along with a number of Republican government officials, including Blackwell. Former chairman of Columbus's chapter of American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Appelbaum is now active in a Jewish-Christian coalition that works to support Israel and other issues.

Evangelicals are loving patriots

Appelbaum, who brought three Orthodox rabbis to the pastors' gathering, attended in order to meet Parsley and to develop deeper relationships between the Jewish community and conservative evangelicals.

"Our freedoms are threatened, our Judeo-Christian beliefs are threatened by radical Islam," Appelbaum says. "If western civilization is going to be saved from these evil forces, who don't share our values, it has to be done through Christianity. There are only 14 million Jews throughout the world. There are two billion Christians. They are the only ones who can stand up to radical Islam."

50. Hell, I denounce him. In fact, I don't think he supports Hillary at all.
Any asshole wearing a shirt like that into a Hillary gathering is doing so INTENTIONALLY to get the cameras of the MSM on him -- which they will certainly oblige him, because it gives them an opportunity to create a mini-gotcha moment and make Hillary look intolerant by 'association.'

Nobody who truly wants Hillary to win would attempt to injure her campaign that way. I bet you that nearly every Hillary supporter in that room thought the guy was a jerk who didn't belong there.

Ergo, I conclude this bigot to also be a liar -- someone who is NOT associated with the HRC campaign and someone who is probably not a real HRC supporter.

He might work for McCain, who actually benefits from this kind of crap.

Or he might work for Obama, who benefits even more.

64. Same old shit...
typical in the Hillary Campaign..

December 10, 2007
Third Clinton Volunteer Knew Of Smear E-Mail

A third volunteer for Hillary Clinton's campaign was aware of a propaganda e-mail alleging that Barack Obama is a Muslim who plans on "destroying the U.S. from the inside out."

"Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential Candidacy," the email reads. "Please forward to everyone you know. The Muslims have said they Plan on destroying the U.S. from the inside out, what better way to start than at The highest level."

Two Clinton volunteers, Linda Olson and Judy Rose, have already been asked to resign from the campaign for their roles in forwarding the e-mail.
The AP reported yesterday that Olson, a volunteer coordinator in Iowa County, sent a version of the e-mail to 11 people, including Ben Young, a regional field director for Chris Dodd's campaign. Young passed it on to the AP.

65. a campaign based on racism, Democrats still racist
after all these years.

The Democratic Party may end up losing their support from the black
community and from anyone who isn't racist.

I'm Jewish because my mother is. My stepbrother had a Christian mother. Not Jewish.

Hillary isn't responsible for that moron nor is Obama responsible for some of his juvenile supporters on this forum.
