I am so proud of Hillary Clinton's supporters here in DU!
As I posted last week, I've gradually shifted my allegiance from Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama. I've always stated that I will support whomever gets the Democratic nomination. I don't see a big difference in the policies and voting records of the two. They're both more conservative than I would like, but they are both very good candidates. I'm proud of the Democratic Party for fielding two candidates who represent historically disenfranchised voters - women and African Americans. This is a historic nomination and the Democrats are leading the way.

Hillary Clinton's supporters appear to be in the minority on GD-P. DUers have done spot checks of this forum at various times, and the number of anti-Hillary threads outnumber anti-Barack threads. Pro-Barack threads outnumber pro-Hillary threads. The quality of the attacks against Hillary and her supporters differ as well, in my opinion. Hillary and her supporters are treated to a constant barrage of sexist attacks that routinely exceed the bounds of good taste and even decency. Yes, there are anti-Barack threads and posts that I consider to be unacceptable as well, but they are fewer in number and less extreme, in my opinion.

Despite this hostile atmosphere, the Hillary supporters here in GD-P have held onto their dream. Today, victory is sweet for them. I applaud them for their loyalty to their candidate. I consider some of the Hillary supporters here to be friends. Congratulations to you and your candidate.

6. Apparently, switching my support was just the boost that Hillary needed!
I like them both. There are things about each of their I don't like. I'm queer and a woman - that makes me want to support Hillary. I also believe that racism can be defeated in this country - that makes me want to support Obama.

8. Johnny Cash for president!
I know, that's impossible. But I feel that his spirit is looking down on the U.S. laughing his ass off. Bunch of fuss and feathers over choosing between two mainstream candidates, neither of whom is radical in any way.

9. I Wish We Could Bring Him Back! Saw Him On PBS The Other Night, In A Show
about Pete Seeger. Johnny was the lone CW musician to speak out against the Vietnam War, bless his heart. He'd be anti-war as hell, if he were alive today.
Thanks for your post, I sure 'precciate it!

4. Hillary supporters in the *minority* on DU? That's rich...

This whole forum has devolved into a group of batshit crazy Hillary goons if you ask me.

The first thing I read when I logged in this morning was "Obama needs to drop out for the good of the party!" Yeah, I know it was a joke post, but everybody seems to act as if Hillary has somehow won everything and that the nomination is cinched.

7. The facts show otherwise. Most GD-P posters are Obama supporters.
Most GD-P threads are pro-Obama and/or anti-Clinton.

10. 50 states in 2008....There's only one candidate that can do this.
Hillary could and will win all 50 states....Let's hope Michigan and Florida Delegates are seated and the SD's all vote for her.

13. Thank you for the kind words.
I've said several times that something I've always admired about Hillary is that she's not a quitter. Because of that, I never felt that I could quit her and I will continue to support her as long as she decides to continue in the race.

16. I agree with this post - HRC supporters face a very hostile atmosphere on DU
I admire and like many of the HRC supporters, and think they're a classy, strong group. I wish it were a better atmosphere for them, and I try not to be shocked by some of the anti-Hillary threads here... but sometimes I do get shocked, especially by the ones that attack her supporters as a whole. I hope as many HRC supporters as possible are able to stay at DU. Congratulations to you on your victory -- it was hard won, in the midst of a lot of ugliness, and is a great moment for your fight.
