Delegates count !!!
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 01:48 PM by not_too_L8
and considering HRC was ahead by 15-20 points in Ohio and Texas just a few weeks ago, and picked up only a few more delegates than Obama did on the fourth, I would say Obama did very well.

Remember it was all Hillary six months ago and Obama had little chance, now Obama is leading by close to a hundred points (including supers) and picking up more supers as time goes on it doesn't look like a big comeback it looks like spin!

GOBama !!

1. Really... Delegates (including supers) are ALL that count....

Whichever candidate can woo the supers into their corner, will get the nomination.

Obama has gained 41 in the past month, Hillary has lost 6. That's a +47 for Obama. We'll see how it goes from here forward... but I suspect a lot of party elders are getting awfully tired of the Clintons and their politics of destruction.

2. Welcome to DU - You are right - I think Hillary is winning the spin game
I never expected Obama to be competitive in Texas, RI or Ohio based on the polls a couple of weeks ago.

3. Obama Faltered. It's That Simple.
With all the money he spent and all the momentum on his side, he still couldn't close. A number 3 on a scale of 10 nafta attack was too much for him to respond against. Hillary again won the big states even in the face of such odds and Obama couldn't close the deal. Last night, Hillary showed she is viable and Obama acquired some risk as it relates to his ability to win the GE. Anyone watching Obama's speech last night should readily be able to see that this was not the look of a man who 'did very well'. Contrast that to Hillary's speech, however.

7. Hillary failed to close the deal and has almost let Obama win
both are viable candidates and neither can close the deal. McCain closed the deal does that make him a better candidate?

11. When is Hillary gonna "close?"
Isn't.Gonna.Happen.

She needs 62% of the rest of the votes to even CATCH Obama.

5. Except Obama can't get there from here
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 01:50 PM by satireV
Obama cannot win the nod without getting super delegates to cross over. It's mathematically impossible.

That's why he stopped whining about how SDs should vote the way the primaries went. If they do, he still can't get enough delegates.

BTW, neither can Clinton get there from here. Same situation.

The joke in the deck of course is Michigan and Florida.

Too bad Obama was out maneuvered there.

I would like to know how he was out maneuvered in Florida and Michigan?
