Cramer undecided on Kerry endorsement
http://www.al.com/politics/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/news/1080901076281250.xml

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Bud Cramer said Tuesday he has not decided whether he'll endorse fellow Democrat John Kerry for president.

"I think sometimes it's better to just not get out there," said Cramer, one of the more conservative House Democrats. Cramer said he is assessing Kerry's record on key issues and that he has concerns about how the Massachusetts senator would treat defense budgets if he were elected.

"I'm concerned that a lot of his positions would not be helpful to north Alabama," Cramer said. His Huntsville-based 5th Congressional District relies heavily on Pentagon funding for defense contractors, scientific research and activities at Redstone Arsenal, including national missile defense.

Kerry had voted to limit funding for former President Ronald Reagan's missile defense initiative, but in 1999 he voted to deploy a national missile defense program.

2. Cramer has repeatedly threatened to leave the party
He threatens to become a republican so democrats have rewarded him with a seat on the Appropriations committee and on the Intelligence Committee to keep him in the party. And republicans are nice to him because they want to lure him to join them.

4. Cramer can stick it where the sun don't shine

As mentioned in the article, Cramer is a whore for the missile defense contractors that would love to fuel the fear machine and keep the Star Wars boondoggle afloat.

A hint at Cramer's constituents:

Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and the big U.S. Army digs sure would love good ol' Bud to keep feedin' the fellas with some green. Or else Chimpy might lend a hand...

A 70% approval rating with the Right To Life Foundation tells you something about him too.
