I was starting to warm up to Obama, in large part because of Samantha Power

She is the second most brilliant person I've ever seen speak (first most brilliant is Prof. Erwin Chemerinsky, and only because he guest-taught a class of mine in law school). Her foreign-policy vision was what started tilting me in favor of Sen. Obama. She's got one of those minds that are so brilliant that it's kind of scary to watch.


What a stupid shame to let her resign. She would have been a crown jewel in any Democratic administration.

Once all of this blows over - maybe even once the primaries are over.

she left to not hurt the obama campaign it seems, and she left calling hillary a monster. if you liked obama because of her, you should have the sense to side with obama as she did/does.

Unfortunately, things like that make a difference in elections. Every word to the press from people with official connections to the campaign should make sure they are truly putting forth the image of that campaign. And she didn't do that. There were much more professionl ways she could have expressed her opinions of Clinton. But she didn't do that.

I do hope she will play a role in the future (I hope) Obama administration.

Had you done so, you'd know that Power is precisely the type of person we need advising dems on foreign policy. Comparing her to Rice just demonstrates your deep pool of ignorance.

Come the election and Obama and Power announces that her previous opinion was "weird."

The whole Obama campaign is made up of liars and smearers that will swear that Obama walks on water as they hand him shit to throw at his opponent - as he lies with "policy" that he does not intend to honor.

Of course Obama's Tax cut for corporations is already in his "Patriot bill" - so I expect that GOP pleaser would pass quickly should he become president.

So she can't be that bright.

Also, I resent her assumption that because I'm voting for Hillary I must be poor or stupid or both. So she's an elitist, AND not too bright. Doesn't recommend her to a position in national politics.

I'm outraged about this. If you like Samantha Powers, check out Susan Rice. I wish I had better clips but these will give you an idea of the caliber of the people supporting him. Susan Rice, no relation to Condi, is Sr Foreign Policy Advisor to Senator Obama.
