As long as we're pissing on the Constitution in order to protect it from itself. Hell, maybe make them yellow.

9. Very good point.
I like everything nader has to say. Hell, if he had joined the race a year and a half ago, he would have my vote. This is not the case, so I will of course vote for Kerry this year.

13. Slippery Slope
I agree with people who say that we are in an extreme time and that this administration is so far out of touch with reality that its imperative to get them out. Hell, even a guy like Chomsky is endorsing Kerry. But I can't escape the feeling that had Clinton not capitulated to the right so much during his 8 years, Bush would have been seen more clearly in 2000 to be the radical conservative he is. I mean when you have to actually put the word "Compassionate" into your slogan, isn't that saying a shit load. Its like Fox using "Fair and Balanced" Duh! Isn't being "compassionate" a given for a president. The right has done such a fantastic job of shifting the political pendulum, Sean Hannity vs. Alan Combs, Pat Buchanon vs. Bill Press, etc... I just can't see how a vote for Kerry is going to improve this country in the long term. We might slow down the impending shit storm a little, but that is all. And let's not fool ourselves; if Kerry does win the election, the right we try and bounce back, and the trend seems to indicate to me that they will come out fighting even further to the right then they already are . Obviously, Nader is not the solution. But the guy's message is, or at least its a possible solution. And I don't see anything coming out of Kerry's campaign that shows he's truly willing to take this country in a new direction. Sorry for the rant:)

8. My apologies
My apologies if irony is intended. I'm not a Nader supporter, although in the past I have been. But, I do get a little disappointed seeing people who I generally agree with make statements that are out and out fabrications. "Nader is secretly a Republican", etc... The man may have a huge ego but I don't know anyone who has done more for the average people of our country. We live in a democracy (or, we should) and I feel extremely uncomfortable with the idea of "a vote for Nader is a vote for Bush." Should we really feel coerced into voting for Kerry because Bush MIGHT win otherwise? It almost seems like mafioso democracy to me.

14. hey, I've suggested before that they simply be killed.
Lilly-livered moderates here wouldn't have any of that. I'm telling you, The Magistrate has it right - kill one, warn one hundred!

24. Yes, the "far left" must eliminate Nader, because the moderates won't!
Wait - don't the moderates say the "far left" (in actuality, everyday progressives) are the ones "betraying America" and becoming "the enemy" by "slamming" (or more correctly, legitimately criticizing) Kerry and "planning to vote for Nader" (though of course it's a secret ballot and they'd have no way to tell)?

16. Jesus U...
Perhaps some of us have been a little harsh, me included.

But then again- what did you expect- Flowers? Parades? Hearty hand-shakes? A Congragulatory note? I dont believe I've been hostile to you, but I have to other Greens, I admit...

Some people see anyone "attacking" Democrats as doing the same things the GOP & media are doing-so the constant defensive mode that us Democrats have been is being directed at all attackers...

Piss on the Constitution? Nazi imagery? Thats a little over dramatic...

You and I are buddies- I know you are on the level. But another problem is that a lot of newer posters are comming out of nowhere with constant attacks-we dont know who these people are- so it's rubbing off on the sincere DUers...

Maybe you missed this gem - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=494761&mesg_id=494761

Should help explain the Nazi imagery.

I didn't expect anything in particular regarding Nader supporters this election season, no. You know I've enjoyed that particular subset of the DU experience as much as anyone else. I just never expected a call for background checks.

Aside from the OBVIOUS problems with that, it's a stupid strategy- he should be more concerned with registering Democrats...
