MSNBC's Samantha Power make up call. "monster" vs. "pimping out"
Here's a wacky idea for us to banter about. Based on some posts I've seen today, MSNBC is really running with the Samantha Power resignation story. I don't have a TV on, so I can't verify this.

A few weeks ago it was an MSNBC reporter who was suspended for saying that the Clinton campaign was "pimping out" Chelsea Clinton. Could the media coverage that Power is receiving be a result of MSNBC wanting to continue to apologize for the pimping comments? I'm sure that they want to distance themselves from those previous comments, so maybe this is a way for them to level the playing field.

1. Or they could be using it as a way to keep repeating it.

2. This may seem to go against Obama...
But I believe it will get people talking about it at their kitchen tables/water coolers and the consensus will be that Hillary is pitiful for making hay about nothing and that she is, to some degree, a 'monster'.

3. I think that Obama will come out of this looking fine
the woman has now resigned so that's slightly embarrasing, but ultimately not a big deal. The "Clinton is a monster" meme could be spreading high and wide now. That being said, no matter who benefits right now I don't like the RW being able to use this in the GE.

4. I'm not worried about the right wing
McCain has plenty of embarrassing remarks of his own that can be played over and over if they go down that route.

however, I agree that it's going to hurt the Clinton campaign more. Obama distanced himself from the remarks and Power resigned from his campaign. People know that's all one can do in such circumstances; what else could Obama do, hold a book-burning of her foreign policy works?

Meantime there's going to be a lot of people thinking 'Hillary 'Monster' Clinton'.
