If they both REALLY care about America as much as we do, they need to cut a deal. NOW.
The latest polling shows McCain beating EITHER Clinton or Obama in November. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=3199499&mesg_id=3199499) While I believe that the economy and Bush's legacy may sink McCain, the poll is indicative of a larger problem: our candidates are beating each other up while McCain is being left untouched.

A McCain presidency would be disastrous. It is extremely likely that he would create an overwhelming conservative majority on both the Supreme Court and the lower courts. It could be decades before we could even begin to dig out of the mess this would create.

Clinton and Obama need to recognize this fact and work together to strike a deal NOW. A month from now may be too late. I will not presume to say what the deal should be, although I'm sure that many in here will have an opinion; I'm just saying that for the good of the party, and more importantly the country, this deal must be struck NOW. If Clinton and Obama are the patriots I believe them to be, they will recognize the wisdom of a deal.

Anyone who doubts this fact simply needs to click on any other thread in this forum; they'll see the results of continued campaigning.

1. Hillary won't accept any deal in which she is not the nominee....
....and Obama, WHO IS LEADING, shouldn't either.

...and if the Democratic Party "cares about America", then they will accept him as the nominee and he'll kick McCain's decrepit ass.

5. Every poll I've seen shows either dem. winning over McCain.
Hillary should not accept VP under BO. Just imagine if something woud happen to BO and she would become Pres. BO's rabid supporters would be worse than nasty. No, no way should Hillary be his VP.

4. No way in Hell! Hillary deserves no deals.
She has proven herself unfit for office.

She doesn't belong anywhere near the White House.
