Your dream 2004 election and aftermath
Basically, everything that you dream of happening this election year but probably won't.

Mine...

Kerry wins with 49 states (we'll give old George Alabama) and with the highest margain of the popular vote ever.

Democrats take back the House and get 60 seats in the senate. All of the really annoying Republican senators up for re-election loose.

Tom DeLay actually looses the vote in his district but is forced to rig the election so that he'll win. This is simply so that he will have the pleasure of having to hand over the gavel to Speaker Kucinich.

Al Sharpton is appointed Chaplain of the House.

Howard Dean literally sends Bush a one way bus ticket to Crawford Texas. Bush not understanding that it's a joke sends Dean a thank-you note.

John Ashcroft gets thrown in jail for violation of civil liberties.

C-SPAN cameras catch Trent Lott's hairhat falling off on a windy day.

1. By dream
Kerry wins every state except Utah (Mormanville), Idaho (skinhead country), and Indiana (which is basically the Deep South of the Midwest).

BBV is exposed, and Diebold CEO O'Dell is arrested and convicted of trying to steal Ohio and California for *.

The Senate becomes 71-29 Democrats, with Jeffords formally joining our party, and Chafee defecting too. We get Ted Kennedy as Majority Leader instead of Daschle.

We win the House in a landslide thanks to the exposure of scandels implicating Tom Delay similar to the '94 banking scandel that help Newt come to power. Pelosi becomes the first women Speaker, and Kucinich becomes House Majority Leader.

* is sent back to Crawford, with Poppy Bush there waiting to announce to * that he's being disowned. The BFEE soon collapses when the Saudi royals become wistle-blowers and turn themselves in to The Hague for human rights violations and conspiring with the BFEE.

President Kerry catches Osama, and rebuilds Afhganistan and Iraq, and blows the lid on the PNAC's Iraqi ambitions.

4. Oh yeah forgot about Daschle...
Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schummer, or Hillary Clinton would all make great replacements. Daschle's really a good guy but he just lives in too much of a Republican state to effectively bring the democratic party more to the left. We can make him chairman of a powerful committee so that his seat will still be fairly safe and he will still have a voice.

5. Perfect except for one more thing....
The day after the election, Rush Limbaugh is convicted of doctor-shopping and is sent to jail, never to be heard on the radio again.

7. Ever Seen "They Live"?
While hiking in the woods, I discover a box of special sunglasses. When I put them on, I see that America's Republican power elite (and Zell Miller) are horrible, blood-drinking aliens who are disguising themselves and controlling Americans through signals broadcast via television.

I find Wes Clark and ask him to put the glasses on, but he punches me in the face. We have a brutal, ten minute fight and he finally puts on the glasses. He sees what I see and we hook up with the resistance.

During Bush and Kerry's final debate, Wes and I go to knock out the signal that's keeping everyone from seeing the aliens. We break into the alien headquarters and engage in a violent gun battle. Meanwhile, Bush has been so overwhelmed and humilated in the first two debates that he abandons all pretense and attacks Kerry with brass knuckles during his opening statement. Kerry easily parries and a fistfight ensues.

Clark and I set a bomb near the transmitter and run away while the building explodes behind us. You know what I mean. Cut back to Kerry calmly explaining his healthcare proposals as he holds Bush in an anklelock. With the signal gone, everyone sees the aliens and Kerry wins the election with one hundred percent of the vote.

The aliens are vastly outnumbered and flee, but not before the Kerry administration seizes their technology and uses it to repair all environmental problems.

The remnants of the Republican party reorganize under a liberal banner and promise to "fight for the interest of people, not horrible, blood-drinking aliens". The United States leads the world towards peace and egalitarianism.

Clark becomes vice-president, and I go on to become the greatest action movie star of all time.

And I get a racecar.

10. OK. If you must dream, why not the best possible scenario?
Kerry resigns from the campaign after he realizes that Democrats will not vote to support a continuation of the treasonous PNAC fascism, no matter how they dress it up.

The DLC disbands after a huge display of public outrage.

Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich team up to form the best Presidential ticket in a generation, and beat Junior in a 49 state landslide. (Florida is still stolen, unfortunately)

On February 1, 2005 a grand jury indicts Bush Jr, Cheney, Asscrotch, Wolfowitz, Rummy, Perle, Kindasleeza, and Colon Bowels for criminal conspiracy in 9-11, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Other PNAC co-conspirators are also tried and convicted later.

President Dean and VP Kucinich work to restore America's reputation worldwide and meet with amazing success. The corrupt Bush dominated CIA is disbanded and replaced with an intelligence agency which truly acts in the best interest of the American people, not the corporations.

13. Kerry wins by 36 states...including Florida by 42,000 votes.
The Dems take the House by 24 seats, and the Dems re-take the Senate by 5 seats with a record 73% voter turnout. THEN>>>>>>

The Republicans all scream, at the top of their lungs "VOTER FRAUD!" and demand a comgressional investigation into voting irregularities and fraud. Written into the bill, is a provision that any election will be overturned if the results come back for the opponent. Not wanting his legitimacy or his mandate questioned, Kerry readily signs on and the investigations are underway by Feb 1 2005. Bush starts campaigning again.

Six months of investigations ensue in all 50 states. At the end of May, the results from the first few states start coming in...By the end of July, ES&S, Sequoia and Diebold will have their corporate charters revoked, the CEOs jailed and all of their voting machines will be destroyed. Certain members of Congress who benefitted from the electronic voting scam by getting re-elected (Santorum, Frist, Delay, Hastert, Miller, and Allard) were found to have signed certain incriminating documents in the rigging of their elections, and they are all convicted and forcebly removed from office...BUT NOT UNTIL...Texas comes through with their results, where some curious documents long thought destroyed somehow turned up in the bowels of Sugarland's Precinct office, and signed by Delay, James Inhoffe and Barbara Bush. It seems that these documents were official orders and pay stubs for the assasinations of Paul Wellstone and Mel Carnahan. Delay is dragged out of the House screaming that it's not over, and he'll be back. 3 days later, in jail, he hangs himself after Bruno, his cellmate turns him down for "protection".

After all the investigations are done, it is found that there was massive voter fraud, and that NO DEMOCRAT benefitted from any of it. 3 more Senatorial elections get overturned, and 11 more Repub house members have to pack up and go home, since the corrected recounts showed they lost their elections as well.

Oh' yeah...they found out that Kerry won Florida by 322,000 votes.

14. An addendum...
In the 2006 mid-term, the Democrats gain another 4 seats in the House, and 2 more seats in the Senate. Scalia gets impeached, convicetd and removed in Feb 2007.

The Bush family fades from view (literally leaving the country), and The Republican party becomes a permanent 3rd party, replaced by the new minority Reform party who successfully ousted the Buchanan contingent.
