Ralph Nader did NOT found Common Cause
I've seen the assertion here and elsewhere that CC is one of Nader's accomplishments. From the FAQ at Common Cause's website (the first question, in fact):

Did Ralph Nader found Common Cause?
No. We have received numerous calls, emails and letters expressing opposition to Ralph Nader’s decision to run for President. We are nonpartisan and have no position on his candidacy but want to make certain you understand that Ralph Nader has no relationship with Common Cause. Ralph Nader has a fine history as a consumer advocate, but not with Common Cause. He was not involved in our founding – John Gardner was founder of Common Cause – and while we have worked with some groups founded by Nader, he has never had any role in this organization.

1. But he did do good work there. There's no denying that
If only his Presidential runs weren't such perfect examples of the Peter Principle in action.

3. ???? Something's not right
Is it that Ralph had some organization of his own that worked with Common Cause. ISTR seeing Ralph and them linked.

5. *shrug*
I don't know what you saw. But I've seen the claim here and I knew Nader didn't found it, so I checked their website.

The fact that it's the first question in their F.A.Q. indicates a lot of people have the same confusion.

7. Yeah, exactly!
Why would so many people operate under the same delusion? I don't why I would have heard of Common Cause if it weren't for Nader.

Now, I'm not saying CC is lying. I just think there's something that's been left out.

8. I don't think so
I've long been familiar with Nader and with Common Cause. I never thought they were connected, and was surprised to see it mentioned here that Nader founded Common Cause.

6. And he's not connected with PC anymore
Public Citizen had a mailing recently saying that Ralph has not been connected with them for years, even though he was its founder.

Seems that many people stopped donating to them BECAUSE of Raph's pecieved connection.

10. I don't see how...
the names aren't even close. I'm curious, too, why so many people are misinformed on this.
