Why Doesn't McCAIN Pick Hillary as His VP?
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 09:30 AM by Stephanie

She's already endorsed him, they're both fully vetted and they're ready on Day One. It's a good fit. And maybe then she could stop hinting about it to Barack all the time. I don't think he's really inclined to invite her on his ticket. But maybe McCain would.

What would their campaign slogan be?

3. McCain/Hillary - Two People Answering the Phone is Better Than One.
Wouldn't you like both of them answering the phone at 3:00 a.m.?

It would be like calling your parents in the middle of the night if your car broke down and you were stuck by the side of the road and then they could call Triple A for you and maybe Gramps would put on a sweater and come out to the service station to pick you up and then Hillary would have a cup of hot cocoa ready for you when you got home.

4. McCain wont accept Hillary as his running mate
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 09:46 AM by UALRBSofL
He'd rather have Obama as his running mate since Obama endorsed Reagan and both McCain and Obama see eye-to-eye on Reagan. Also, since Obama is not veted, and, he is a first term Senator he could learn a lot from McCain.

5. That photo was taken shortly after Hillary joined Bush and McCain's smear of Kerry
when they all pretended that Kerry insulted the troops.

6. I'd forgotten about that.
Can't remember what she said - did she join in the RW calls for Kerry to apologize?

9. HRC: "What Senator Kerry said was innappropriate..."
Well you know who's side she's on. She's on Hillary's side.

Transcript:

Larry King: When we come back, the joke that fell flat and how it might affect the political future of Senator Kerry. And as we go to break, a reminder of how some people reacted to it at the time.

Kerry: I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president, and of his broken policy.

McCain: Americans are very forgiving. If Sen. Kerry apologizes I think we could move on.

Hillary Clinton: What Senator Kerry said was innappropriate and I believe we can't let it divert us from looking at the issues that are at stake.

George Bush: The members of the United States military are plenty smart, and they are plenty brave, and the Senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology.

10. She finds a camera to VALIDATE the smear but never found a camera to DEFEND any Dem being smeared

over the years. Clintons only defend themselves and their power and that meant defending Bush from 2001-2006.

Bill defended Bush repeatedly throughout his book tour in 2004, too.

11. I agree with your barbs on Hillary and McCain but . . .
. . . come on - Kerry was much harder on himself than she was - saying it was inappropriate is hardly an attack on Kerry.

12. The whole controversy was a rightwing switfboating distortion.
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 10:22 AM by Stephanie
And for her to validate it by piling on is beyond disloyal. It's dishonest. She knew better. It's another example where Hillary thought it would help Hillary's career if she joined in, so she did.

14. I've been railing about the McCain thing for days
And I really like John Kerry - I raised and gave a significant (for me) amount of money, worked precincts and hobbled around FLA on a bad foot for a week for the man - at my own expense. And I'm no HRC lover. But it seems to me she said the minimum - and certainly no worse than what several other Dems said at the time.

Having said that, I understand why you feel the way you do.

Hillary's for Hillary. Period. And I have campaigned for HER, in 2000. In 2006 I campaigned against her.

25. She KNEW it was a false attack and instead of defending Kerry she validated the smear.
Kerry dropped a PRONOUN and got scolded by Hillary while millions of us defended Bill for years for dropping his PANTS.

15. The caption is priceless >
Trying to imply that Obama is FOR McCain because he greeted him at an event is a Clintonian-level distortion. You're learning your lessons well.

Presidential candidates Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain meet onstage between back to back Republican and Democratic debates in New Hampshire, January 5, 2008. A possible match-up in the November presidential election would pit a crusty old politician known for blowing his top against a first-term lawmaker seen as charismatic yet largely untested.
