Bush Campaign Scaling Back Ads in Swing States
The Bush campaign plans to slacken its television advertising in swing states next week after spending $45 million in six weeks, Republican officials said yesterday.

That is more than one-fourth of the $170 million budget the Bush-Cheney campaign says that it set for the pre-convention period. The campaign will report later this week that it has raised $180 million to $190 million, the officials said.

The mix of ads will switch more heavily to attacks on Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), which the campaign has been running in approximately equal proportion to messages boosting Bush, said the officials, who refused to be identified.

3. Of course he'll switch to attack ads
since he has nothing to run on-his MalAdministration has been a disaster, and more and more people are realizing it. I can't see an ad about how brilliantly he's led us into war would go over in towns that house the bases of the troops whose time in Iraq has just been extended three months.....

4. Numerous ads
He has been running so many ads here in Iowa and in the latest poll he fell even further behind Kerry. Iowa may no longer be a swing state. It may be safe Kerry at this point.
