Kerry: New Ads Will Define Him for Voters
NEW YORK - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) told well-heeled party donors on Thursday he plans to launch an advertising campaign next week that is designed to define him for voters largely unaware of him.

"A lot of people don't really know who I am," Kerry said at a breakfast where he raised $2.5 million. "The level of communication we need to establish here is enormous."

1. Good! But don't spend everything
He needs only to defend against Bush's definitions now, but he needs to blow him out during the final stretch,

2. Kerry seems to be taking the opposite tack.
Rather than lend credence to Bush's false attacks, he is letting Bush's own credibility problems speak for themselves. He is not letting Bush define the terms of the debate by answering his bullshit, but putting out his own message instead.

3. To the extent that he campaigns at all, that's all Kerry
should be doing. I think he should be doing, however, all he can to keep his name out of the papers. On Election Day, everybody's going to know who he is; but we need to do what we can to keep the public thinking about George Bush.

4. Perfect Timing.
I've been desperately waiting for Kerry to go out and run some ads to get his name and background planted firmly in the minds of undecideds.

With Bush against the ropes on both the 9-11 hearings and the Mess O' Potamia, this is the perfect time to carpetbomb the battleground states with POSITIVE ADS.

Go John!
