Strong Endorsement for Jeff Seemann on Jerry Springer's website
Nice endorsement for Jeff Seemann for congress on Jerry Springer's website today by Jerry's best friend and the webmaster--Jene Galvin and it is my guess that this was done with Springer's blessing as well.

Jeff's appearance last night on Air America did alot for his campaign and helped Jeff raise $8500 from 310 new donors!! pretty impressive.

This coming after Jeff put an ad on Daily Kos last week when many weak-kneed Democrats were pulling their ads. That ad helped Jeff raise $7000 in one day.

I think Regula (his GOP opponent) will be in for a shock when Jeff beats the veteran congressman in November and will be one of the reasons why the Democrats will take back the house this year.

1. I loved Jeff's comment...
about not using the free health care provided to Congress until all Americans had access to healthcare...

He was very well spoken, well read, and hitting all the big points...he will be an excellent Congress member for our Party!!!!!!!!!

wooohoooo...go Jeff go!!!!!!!!!!

2. did what I could
I donated... but now I'm wondering what his chances are?

$8,000 or so doesn't seem like near enough for a congressional race.
Might not even pay for 1 local TV ad. Anyone know?

3. I think he can make Regula's
longevity a issue--sometimes voters do respond to "time for a change" certainly I think that will be an issue in the senate race in Pennsylvania and it was an issue when Roth of Delaware was defeated.

I was looking for polling data and analysis...

I hope that I donated to a campaign that can win.
tilting at windmills can be fun too... don't get me wrong.

6. I don't know about the polls
as I haven't seen any, but i'll say this--no one thought the GOP would gain the House in '94 and they did it by taking out some Democratic heavy hitters including the Speaker of the House at the time, Tom Foley, who went into the last weekend believing he would win. It is these challengers of entrenched incumbents who will make it possible for democrats to win back control of the house.

4. Why it is important to give...

We need to drain the swamp folks....for every dollar we raise for Congressional seats....that's money that these candidates hold on to and do not share with competitive seats...

Congresscritters are notorious for sweating out reelection.....give enough to Jeff to scare the hell out of Regalia, and he won't be passing on any of his bucks to other repugs...in fact, he'll be out there hand held out looking for cash too.....there are too few of them and too many of us....they are already running up against the spending limits because of Bush and the Senate....

Push them everywhere....send a dollar, two, five, every little bit helps....and the trend has been opening up in favor of the Dems in polls, we could snag a few surprises....

Let's make this our 1994!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I owe the repugs the sick to the stomach feeling I had that night!!!!!!!!!!!

7. he has a tough uphill climb
Regula is one of the appropriations committee's cardinals as in he controls a good deal of money in the house. If the current appropriations chair retires, Regula will in turn become one of the most powerful congressman in the nation by becoming chair of appropriations.

8. only if his party is the majority
if it isn't, and the Dems control the House, he's the ranking minority member which means shit in the House...

See my post above about why it is important to contest the repugs EVERYWHERE!
