It's time to put a few things to rest about Hillary.....
Over the past couple days I have seen all sorts of excuses from Hillary supporters.

Myth #1. Senator Clinton is being outspent by large sums by Senator Obama.

Fact: Senator Obama has only outspent Hillary by less than half a million dollars.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Myth #2. Senator Clinton is winning among "traditional" Democrats.

Fact: The African-American community is what - "non-traditional" Democrats?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myth #3. Hillary is winning more blue states.

Fact: Obama has won more Blue states so far with 11 (Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Hawaii) to Hillary's 6 Blue states (California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Myth #4: Hillary has a better chance of winning in a GE.

Fact: Recent polls show that Obama actually does better than Hillary in the GE, and he has a better chance to capture many states out of the west that have long been Republican strongholds.

http://www.surveyusa.com/index.php/2008/03/06/electoral-math-as-of-030608-clinton-276-mccain-262/
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myth #5: Neither candidate can get to 2024 without super delegates, so super delegates are the only ones that count.

Fact: Neither candidate can get to 2024 wihtout super delegates and pledged delegates, so they both count. If only super delegates counted, then there would be no reason for Hillary to compete in the rest of the primaries. She could just shut down her primary campaign and focus on super delegates.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myth #6: If Obama is so strong, then why hasn't he put away Hillary yet?

Fact: Hillary was declaring victory for Super Tuesday weeks before it happened. If she was so strong, then why didn't she put Obama away when she was suppose to.

1. It's fine with me if Obama is our nominee,
but I hope his supporters will not alienate the white blue-collar voters that Obama will need if he is going to win the GE.

side where they'll be more comfortable.

The Democratic Party is thankfully redefining itself and formally breaking with all remnants of its dixiecrat days.

So that undermines your whole argument! :P

13. Hillary is a politician just like Obama is a politician
All politicians have big egos or they would have chosen another career.

I will be happy if Obama becomes President, but I don't think he is God.

16. Hillary and Obama
are very close on the issues.

Obama is an idealist; Hillary is practical.

Neither is anywhere near being Satan, or even being a Republican.

17. The evidence is against you on this one
Hillary's campaign record speaks for itself. Even Rove would blush as some of the shit she's pulled.

19. If Obama can't handle Hillary,
he can't handle McCain.

I want a Dem to win the GE because I believe that there is a difference between a Dem and a Republican. I said that in 2000 and 2004 and I say it now.

20. Different subject, but you're wrong again
It's one thing to go up against a Republican opponent. It's quite another to have people from your own party working opening to undermine you.

22. Hillary is trying to win just as Obama is trying to win
That's the nature of politics

There was an interesting article in the Washington Post about Obama's personality type. It's the same as two heroes of mine: Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi. I think that a lot of Obama's supporters are more like members of a movement rathter than citizens of a state. They think more idealistically than realistically.

Obama will be a good President, but he does need to prove he can survive in the real world.

24. No, not just as Obama is trying to win
Obama is not using the kind of out-of-bounds tactics that Hillary is -- endorsing the Republican over him, using racist surrogates to attack him for being black, etc, etc, etc. Anyone with a shred of decency would not engage in that kind of campaigning.

More importantly: Hillary CAN'T win. She must know this by now. So the only conclusion we're left with is that she's trying to "bloody him up" for McCain

26. An argument can be made that Hillary can win
more easily than Obama.

I know two people who voted for Obama in the primary who worry that he won't win the general election because of racism in this country. They want Obama to win badly enough that they voted for him in spite of their fears of racism.

To say that Hillary is running for President in order to elect a Republican is not a rational statement IMO.

I think the Republicans will use such sentiments to portray Obama as a fool because his supporters are such fools.

28. Obama cannot win the nomination. It's over
That statement makes no sense, but neither does your statement.

Objectively speaking, I think it's much more likely that Obama will win the nomination than Hillary. But it's not impossible that Hillary will win.

But then I prefer not to check my mind at the door when I discuss politics.

29. Depends what the meaning of "win" is...
If "win" means "got the most votes, the most delegates and the most states", then no, she cannot win the nomination.

On the other hand if "win" means "somehow slimed her way to the nomination in spite of the fact that she lost the primaries", then yes, you might have a point.

But no, you really don't have a point. There's no way the Democratic leadership will hand her the nomination over the will of the people. There is simply no reputable, objective journalist, commentator or political pundit who thinks so.
