PATRIOT (Act) Pragmatism
The PATRIOT Act does not reflect John Kerry's politics. Get that straight.

Following September 11th, 2001, John Kerry joined numerous other liberal senators and congressman in voting for the act. Why? Possibly because following the murder of 3000 individuals, our nation's leaders were more concerned with preventing New York from going up in a mushroom cloud than the rights of individuals who download pornography in libraries.

John Kerry recognized the fact that the PATRIOT act represented a threat to civil liberties and the seperation of intelligence gathering and law enforcement; that is why he lead the fight to include a sunset provision that allows there even to be a debate now on the re-institution of the act.

John Kerry is against the PATRIOT act. He voted for it while holding his nose to protect our lives following a terrorist attack.

Purity is never a greater trait that pragmatism.

John Kerry, by the way, is a nominal member of the DLC only because of his balanced budget stance. He is the lone wolf as the rabid liberal on the council.

Kucinich ain't got nothin on my man.

a DLCer (Repub-Lite) becuase I like John Kerry am a fiscal conservative and am willing to make tough choices to balance the budget. Otherwise, I am a true Liberal, like John Kerry. At the same time a can be pragmatic too.

I, like John Kerry, am NO DLCer! I would make those SOB's take me off their Nazi roster.

2. He needs to make it very clear that he's going to let it expire
to redeem himself on this one for me. Very, very clear. And then do it.

i don't have a reason to doubt he will, but...i want to know.

3. He had a laundry list of conditions
Unless those were met he said he wanted to let it expire due to issues of civil liberties.

If it had not been for a few Dems fighting this hard including Kerry, it would have gone through without a sunset provision.
