1. I do wonder if we can get passed these War lovers.
To make things right with a War seems to be a big thing with us in this country, and I sometimes think I am living in the Dr Stranglove movie. I have met a lot of men and women like that when I lived in the middle of the military society, plus the ones really off on war. It is when the War group get power that really makes me feel like it is scary time. It is like the man who beats his wife and children. he thinks it works and it never does.Even if they do as he likes they all end up hating him.

2. Wow!
As an early member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, I could probably be offended at being called a warmonger. And I only beat my children on Thursday.

I will go back to my very earliest days on DU and remember asking the question...Which one of these swing states do you think a New England liberal can carry to win the Presidency? Florida, West Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, Arizona, Nevada? We need at least two of them.

We lost them all last time, and if you do not have a General Clark, and a Senator Graham, etc etc. campaigning for Democrats in those states, we are going to lose them again.

Senator Kerry will join the list of New England Liberals who couldn't sway voters from the great unwashed areas of the Country enough to get elected. And we will have to suffer 4 more years of the current crap due to the short sighted views like ran the Gore campaign.

3. NO ONE hates war more than men who've been there.

Remember it's an administration of chickenhawks who got us into this godawful mess, and they did that largely by ignoring advice from career military men/generals like Eric Shinseki, Anthony Zinni, Colin Powell--and Wesley Clark.

Now it's going to take an administration led by genuine war heroes like John Kerry and Wes Clark to undo the incredible damage done to this country's military and to its standing in the world by the coward chickenhawks.
