Democrats see Cheney as a target
WASHINGTON - President Bush likes to tell audiences that Dick Cheney is "the greatest vice president the country has ever had." Democrats think the taciturn Wyoming conservative could help drag Bush to defeat this year.

In the first of a series of attacks planned for this week, Democrats yesterday questioned Cheney's Vietnam-era draft deferments and criticized his votes in Congress against various defense programs.

Cheney fired back with a blistering critique of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry's fitness to serve as commander in chief.

Democrats' decision to turn their fire on Bush's running mate instead of focusing on their top target is unusual, but Cheney is an unusual vice president. Probably no other vice president has played such a large role in shaping administration policy.

I think this is a good tactic, as Cheney has one of the lowest popularity ratings for a VP in history. He is polling at 31 percent approval right now.

1. And the '04 bumperstickers have already been printed with Dicky's
name on them!

I heard someone say it on Air America--Cheney is the real president.

George is easy to defeat, but Cheney and Rove are dirty, stinking, nasty little s**ts and won't be so easy.

Cheney needs to be taken to task for HIS flip-flops on defense funding Reagan era--against; now-decidedly for).

3. they should run an ad of cheney as the tin man looking for a heart.
and bush as the scarecrow looking for a brain. dorothy could be condi looking to get out of the 911/ozmess. rummy could be the lion--all roar and no courage (i'm sure he's never served in the military, either.)
