How Obama has played the Wright/Rezko thing perfectly.....

Released his "scandals" during a dead period when they would do the least harm. This morning, more people are talking about the injustice of ASU being left out of the NCAA tournament in favor of Arizona than are talking about Rev. Wright.

It's a classic campaign tactic... release one's dirty laundry on YOUR schedule, not on your opponents'. This was too late to help Hillary on March 4, but too early to help her on April 22. It was WAY too early to help McCain.

Wright was going to blow up at some point in the campaign... and this was the absolutely best time for it to happen.

Secondly... Hillary's campaign is making a critical mistake with respect to tax returns. They are allowing the Obama campaign to do the drumbeat for a month before they say they'll finally release them.... just one week before PA.

This ensures that the bulk of the news cycles in the final week before PA will be about either A) the contents of Hillary's tax returns or B) the swirl of controversy about how she broke her campaign's promise to release them by April 15.

The narrative in the week leading up to PA will be all about the Tax Returns, no matter whether Hillary release them or not, and also no matter the contents. Since the Clintons' income rose from $5 million to over $30 million in 2006, it will look bad no matter the source of the increase.

Wright/Rezko will be a more-than-a-month-old distant memory.

Well-played, President Obama.

1. Neither Rezko or Preachergate will ever go away, they are now part of him
and huge reasons he shouldn't be our candidate. Preachergate is now viral and all over the place. Hillary's opponent is now dead man walking to all who aren't blinded by the kool-aid

3. it's too early to say that except for hillheads
who are panting orgasmic with hope over this. And for the racists. Obama will or will not survive Wright. I suspect he will. Unlike hilly and rather like bill, Obama seems to have a good dose of teflon in his makeup. We'll see over the next couple of weeks. Nancy Pelosi sure doesn't think he's a dead man walking. She thinks hilly is the dead candidate walking. Her opinion is a lot more informed and influential than yours. That's for sure.

7. This post is the perfect example of how HRC supporters are indeed about HOPE...
I HOPE the muslim smear sticks...

I HOPE people are afraid of the black man...

I HOPE Rezko sticks...

I HOPE Wright sticks...

I HOPE people lose hope.

some things might stick and some might, and some might affect some voters, but to suggest that this really is a big deal (and I mean in reality, not in politics or perception) is simply being disingenuous and wanting to win on non-issues.

this is all so transparent to everyone I talk to outside DU, the polls all point that way.

oh, and is kool-aid the most overused metaphor on this board or what?

5. Keep in mind, Wright didn't come into existence last Wednesday.
The Clinton campaign *knew* they could use clips of Wrights sermons out of context and they wouldn't get positive air play in the RW media. So, when Ferraro's racism was about to be tied permanently around Clinton's neck - they "exposed" Rev Wright for all to see. The Rezko story is the same thing.

Either we act like the same old sheep and fall for the same old bullshit, and get the same old political leadership - McCain or Clinton - or we recognize it for the hit piece that it is and ignore it & vote of the future.

6. Even if that scheming helps him win the primary,
his attending a racist church for 20 years and lying about not being aware of that racism kills any chance whatsoever of him ever being elected POTUS.
Pretty slick move though. And all the Hillary haters don’t even know it was Barack who leaked it lol.

8. Rezko is a dead issue. IF you read the transcript of the Chicago Tribune
you clearly realize that the only thing in question is that fact that Rezko bought the land next to his house. The sellers have already told the media that they were separate transactions and the Chicago media are satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.

Secondly, there has been nothing earth shattering out of the trial and it is like a week old.
