Poll question: Obama supporters (or recent defectors?): How are you feeling?
Last week was pretty trying: It began with Ferraro running wild like a loose canon and ended with nonstop clips of Reverend Wright.

I must say, the Clintons truly did win the battle last week, but now both candidates are tarnished and slipping in the polls.

Anyway, how do you feel now?

4. I support him more than ever, but I am worried
I don't want him to get the nomination if he can't win the general. But I think this Wright stuff is ridiculous and I am sticking with Obama and I think we all need to work hard to stand up for him!

10. True because McCain can't exactly shout about that situation
with Parsley and Hagee's sermons waiting in the wings...

Of course, that wouldn't stop the RW machine from putting it out there anyway...

it will blow over and people will continue to see why he's awesome, but I'm more worried now than I was a week ago.

9. My support for Obama is stronger
because of what's being done to him, and because his church seems pretty cool to me.

But I'm afraid the damage already done will lessen his chances in the GE.

25. I am not religious but feel offended because some people are
The separation of church and state and just as importantly the separation of the individual from their religion should not be made a mockery of.

Well unless the return to the dark ages would be something you would enjoy

33. In the movie "The Prophecy" that Walken guy did a bang up job.
But wasn't it in another movie role he spoofed that same character for the comedy of it?

The "Deer Hunter" was a good but gruesome flick also from what i remember.

16. Did you have to invite the Clinton supporters in here?
To turn a post that was designed to be an honest read of the mood among Obama supporters into a flame war?

28. The post is ridiculous
so is your suggestion. Maybe I should quote Mr. Olbermann and call her David Duke. It's not a flame, it's actual objective observation.

18. Just curious, who has stopped supporting Obama because of this?
Please weigh in if you voted that way, so we know the defections are real and not just Clinton supporters trying to demoralize us. And Obama supporters, PLEASE do not attack these people...we can try to convince them to come back, but do not attack and turn them off even more.

27. That's my suspicion. But I think there have been some Obama supporters who have gotten discouraged
And I'd love it if they came out and said so. I have gotten discouraged a few times this month...right now I am feeling fired up and eager to defend Obama, but sometimes I get discouraged and wonder if we're fighting to win the battle (the nomination) but lose the war (the presidency).

24. No worries here
This has been Obama's most challenging time. He's faced it with strength and courage and understanding. Tomorrow he will face the American people and attempt to talk through the issue with them. He may fail, he is human, but my expectation is that he will succeed and we can stop fighting 40-year old battles and get back to his campaign for all Americans. If anyone can do it, Obama can.

26. We all know the outcome of these polls, so why do ya'll keep posting them.
I, a strong Hillary supporter, do hereby aver that Obama supporters outnumber Hillary's 9 to 1. I also aver that Obama supporters never admit any dismay over anything their candidate does or by anything else that might affect his campaign. I hereby admit that Obama will never lose a poll on this board because of the aforementioned information, and, therefore, there is no need to poll this board for results that are preordained.

29. pissed: mostly at the right-wingers on this progressive board, pissed @ the one-note corporate MSM,
pissed at simpleminded ahistorical middle America, bemused a little by the silent low-ground on this taken by other candidates (who, let's face it, aren't going to look a gift horse in the mouth); and highly irritated that Obama didn't distance himself from Wright months ago.

Still, he's my candidate by far.

At least this puts to rest the "he's actually a conservative" and the "he might be a Muslim" bullshit.

30. I'm actually more worried about the Democratic Primary than the GE
The Clinton campaign is hell-bent on exercising every trick and loophole they can come up with to try to influence the delegate count, and even though their democratic supporters may not acknowledge it, they're working in concert with the right-wing to get her the nomination, though both sides of that bizarre alliance have different motives.
