New CNN Poll: Majority of Dems Prefer Obama
(CNN) -- A majority of Democrats would like to see Barack Obama rather than Hillary Clinton win their party's presidential nomination, according to a national poll out Monday.

Fifty-two percent of registered Democrats questioned in a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey say the senator from Illinois is their choice for president, with 45 percent supporting Clinton.

The poll also suggests Democrats are more enthusiastic about an Obama victory (45 percent) than for a victory by the senator from New York (38 percent).

"The same patterns that we have been seeing in recent exit polls are holding true for Democrats nationwide as well. Obama's biggest support comes from men, younger voters and independents who lean Democratic," CNN polling director Keating Holland said. "Clinton does best among women, older voters and whites. One interesting difference, unlike the exit polls in many states, there is no difference in the national poll between college-educated Democrats and those who never attended college."

I'll take my chances with Obama. He's picking up delegates left & right, even in the midst of what some hoped would be his demise. And rising in some polls, dropped a couple of points in others. He's giving a big speech tomorrow, and I expect his numbers to shoot through the stratosphere, because if there's one thing he can do, and do extremely well, is give a helluva speech. Sorry....

49. Here you go.
In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, Monday’s numbers show Obama with 46% support from Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Clinton earns 44% of the vote (see recent daily results). Among Democrats, Clinton leads 48% to 42%, but Obama has a substantial lead among unaffiliated voters likely to participate in a Democratic Primary

Daily tracking results are collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a four-day rolling average basis. The general election sample is currently based upon interviews with 1,600 Likely Voters. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

28. Seems That It Includes Independents Who 'Lean' Democratic. That Probably Accounts For The
difference between this poll and the others that have Hillary ahead, amongst just registered Democrats. Not positive though, but from the way the article was written it does seem like the leaning independents were included, even though at first they say registered democrats only (which if true, would make the line quite disingenuous).

44. It's Not Clear.
The second paragraph is simply comparing the results to past exit polls, but it doesn't quite say where the data comes from. They say in the first paragraph registered Democrats, but at the end of the article when they reference how many were polled, they have a separate number that seems to be there to imply that was the number used for the democratic favorite results. I'm not certain on that, it just seems that might be why that number is split out. If it is, then that number does include independent leaners as well, and leaves it open as to whether they did or didn't include them in the first paragraph results.

69. 3/18/8: USA Today/gallup poll has Clinton beating McCain 51/46 (+5). Obama beats him 49/47(+2).
McCain was beating Clinton by +4 in a similar Gallup poll a month ago. In that same poll, Obama was beating McCain by +1. Amongst liklely voters, Hillary is doing better against McCain than Obama and her numbers have improved (amongst likely voters) 9 times more than Obama's over the past month. Who has the momentum now?

79. Obama at all costs.
The evil woman must be defeated. And I'm sure none of you will go to hell for your deliberate and vicious campaign of slander.

77. I got a funny feeling
folks are getting turned off by HRC's too cute by half snide comments and her campaign's unending kitchen sink tactics. Six weeks is a long time for them to go negative - especially for Democrats. Lets face it, we really are a party of hope for all.

81. This 41-year old woman supports Obama -
After watching his speech today I found myself thinking he is not only a presidential candidate and civil rights activist, but a leader with the potential of Martin Luther King, Mandela, Ghandi, and others. It will be great if Americans are evolved enough to elect him. If not I know he will continue to inspire and lead. He is not only a great man, but a good one.

87. I'm first a Democrat and secondly a Clinton supporter
And I have to say that I'm tacking toward Barack Obama now. I want the nomination resolved and it seems that Obama is the emerging consensus choice.

I'm glad I can proudly support either candidate. Supporting Obama doesn't mean I've abandoned Hillary (or Bill) Clinton. I am grateful for their contribution to our nation and I look forward to more great things from both of them in the future.

But I think it's time to get behind Barack Obama for President.

90. yes it is
Hillary has no chance at this point of winning the nomination. Everything she does at this point brings down the party. Continuing is fruitless. Not to mention that Obama beats McCain in national polls, Hillary does not. Why people are continuing to support her boggles my mind. Not even Rev. Wright can stop Obama , or Rezko. Let's get to the GE already! Enough with this sandbox bickering between Hillary and Obama! I am ready to say President Obama!
